Smith was born on October 10, 1990, in Miramar, Florida, USA. Then in 2007, he was named second-team all-Broward County as an athlete. His junior year was so impressive that he received an invitation to the Elite 11 quarterback camp in Aliso Viejo, California. Through his senior years, Smith completed 205 of 338 passes for 3,089 yards. Geno Smith is African-American. Smith was born to Eugene Smith Jr. and Tracy Sellers. Smith’s family might be living in Florida, but they hail from Bimini in the Bahamas. Smith’s paternal grandfather is Eugene Cyril/Larry Smith.

Back in 2013, when Brad Wells of Stampedblue interviewed Smith, he disclosed his religion and upbringing. “I was raised in the church and I’m high in my faith,” Smith said.
