“I’m super proud of Quinn,” Texas head coach Steve Sarkisian said after Ewers’ final game in burnt orange. “All he did was show up every day and work and be a great leader and be a great teammate.” His words for Ewers show the respect and love they have for each other.

Quinn Ewers’ GPA revealed

When you think of Quinn Ewers, the first image that comes to mind might be the confident quarterback carving up Big 12 defenses, rather than a student cracking open textbooks. But surprise: Ewers has been quietly handling his academic responsibilities with the same precision he brings to the pocket.

He revealed a 3.3 GPA while majoring in Physical Culture and Sports at the University of Texas. An impressive grade for someone juggling playbooks, press conferences, and NIL chaos. Ewers also admitted he actively seeks out academic support when needed, making sure the classroom doesn’t take a backseat to football. While he hasn’t racked up academic awards just yet, maintaining a GPA above 3.0 in a major program is a win of its own.

Which college did Quinn Ewers attend? Education & more

Ewers’ college journey hasn’t been linear, but it’s definitely been strategic. After initially committing to the Texas Longhorns, he flipped to Ohio State and enrolled in 2021. But the Buckeye experiment was short-lived—he barely saw the field and transferred to Texas in December of that same year.

Back home in the Lone Star State, Ewers found his rhythm. He took over as the starting QB for Texas in 2022 and hasn’t looked back since. He was also the first amateur athlete to sign an NIL deal north of $1 million, which is not a small achievement. He’s also on the cover of EA Sports College Football 25.

Quinn Ewers’ stats and record

Over his college career, Ewers played in 37 games and completed 737 of 1,135 passes, good for a 64.9% completion rate. He racked up 9,128 passing yards, threw 68 touchdowns, and tossed 24 interceptions. He wasn’t just a statue in the pocket either—he added 8 rushing touchdowns along the way.

In the 2023 Big 12 Championship, Ewers went nuclear, setting a record for passing yards in the title game and grabbing MVP honors. And in 2024, he kept the momentum going, completing 293 of 445 passes for 3,472 yards, 31 touchdowns, and 12 interceptions. He added 2 more scores on the ground, rounding out another productive season under center.
