Tyler Loop, Baltimore Ravens placekicker, has emerged as one of the best rookies from the 2025 NFL draft class. The 24-year-old from Lucas, Texas, made his name as one of the best kickers in College Football during his five-year stint at the University of Arizona. As Baltimore was looking for a special teams player, they opted to take a risk and draft Loop with the 186th pick in the sixth round. This worked out incredibly for Baltimore, as Loop has exceeded expectations so far, making 12 of 13 field goals (92.3%) and has set himself as a mainstay in their roster.

As a rookie, Tyler Loop signed a four-year, $4,444,772 contract with the Baltimore Ravens, per Spotrac. This deal included a $244,772 signing bonus, $244,772 guaranteed, with an average annual salary of $1,111,193. In 2025, Loop is set to earn a base salary of $840,000. Alongside the signing bonus, Loop will also receive a workout bonus of $5,152, while carrying a cap hit of $906,345 and a dead cap value of $249,924.

Tyler Loop has just signed his four-year rookie deal, so he isn’t among the top-earning kickers in the NFL. As of the 2025-26 season, Loop has earned $1,089,924 as part of his first-year salary and the various bonuses part of his contract, per Spotrac.
A look at Tyler Loop’s college and professional career
A native of Lucas, Texas, Tyler Loop played three years of football as a kicker/punter at Lovejoy High School. He also played as a forward for two years on the school’s soccer team and competed in track and field for a single season. Loop was then picked up by the University of Arizona as a two-star recruit in 2020.
As a Wildcat, Loop started his college football career as a punter and punted 24 times for 1,033 yards, averaging 43.0 yards per punt. Next season, he transitioned into the kicker’s role and was incredible from the get-go. He was perfect on all his kicks as he converted on all 12 of his field goal attempts and all 12 of his extra points.
Continuing his elite form in 2022, Tyler Loop also took up kickoff duties for Arizona. On the field, he made 18 of 21 attempts and also recorded a career-long kick of 48 yards against Washington for a percentage of 85.71. Speaking of extra points, Loop went a perfect 38 of 38. Then in 2023, he started with an incredible Almo Bowl performance, making all three of his field goals and all three of his extra points in a win over Oklahoma.

Through the season, he converted on 19 of his 24 field goals, while also hitting all 53 of his extra points. In his last year of college football in 2024, Tyler Loop made 18 of 23 field goal attempts (78.26%). He also set a program record of a 62-yard field goal against Houston (11/15). He then finished his illustrious career with the highest field goal percentage in program history (67-of-80) for 83.75%.
Now, as the rookie placekicker for the Baltimore Ravens, Tyler Loop has made 18 of 19 extra points attempted so far in the league. With Loop replacing the legendary Justin Tucker, the youngster has big shoes to fill. But with the 24-year-old youngster establishing himself in the NFL, it seems the Ravens won’t need to worry about the position for a long time.
