Under the bright stadium lights and amidst the roar of the crowd, Charissa Thompson stands with a mic in hand and passion in her heart, interviewing the athletes. There’s no doubt that the Sportscaster of Fox Sports is one of the few women reigning in male-dominated sports journalism. And indeed, she is at her best every time.
Born on May 4, 1982, in Seattle Washington, Charissa Thompson is the youngest child of mother Cathy Thompson and father Scott Thompson. Besides her, the couple also share two kids–one son Tyson, who was a baseball player during his high school and college tenure–and the elder daughter, who reportedly works as a philanthropist.
Charissa Thompson and her family usually prefer to keep a low profile about their personal lives on social media or anywhere in the public. However, the television host uploaded a pastel picture of her with her mom and dad–all with beautiful smiles, on X in 2014. Along with this photo, she also wrote a heartwarming caption, calling herself “A lucky girl.”

She further added, “My parents. Love them so much. They are High School sweethearts and still in love.” This post revealed that Charissa Thompson’s parents are high school sweethearts, making their relationship unbreakable.
In addition to that, it’s also clear from the post how much the journalist loves her mom and dad. But that wasn’t the only post by the sports commentator. Later, in 2017, Charissa Thompson again shared a cute picture of her parents, expressing how lucky she was to have them in her life. She said, “I won the lottery with parents.” Wow! That’s indeed a beautiful and emotional message to mom and dad from their child. And of course, these posts tell that her parents have supported her and their other two kids through thick and thin. Be it in the kids’s hosting career or sports career, Cathy Thompson and Scott Thompson always stood as pillars of support for them.

Once, during an interview in December 2016, Charissa Thompson’s mamma revealed that she already knew that her younger daughter would become a TV host. This was because she “always wanted to be on-air.” According to Cathy, “Eleven years old, she got the toilet paper roll, got the video camera. She always wanted to be on TV and that’s what she did. That’s why she left home at 18.” Despite attaining stellar grades, Cathy revealed that Charissa always fell in trouble because of “talking too much.” Nevertheless, her parents supported her. And that’s one of the reasons why Charissa Thompson continues to show her love and support for her birth givers.
