Allegedly, she initially brought him up in Charlotte until he wished to live with his father, DJ Humphries Sr.

Previously, in an interview, NFL OT himself disclosed his desire to have a “man” in his life during his teenage. “It was getting to be that age where I was becoming a teenager and I was living with my mom. I needed to be with my dad, to have that man in my life,” Humphries had stated.

Emotional at the moment, Keisha, seemingly struggled to let her son leave. However, she handled the situation positively. Ultimately, she knew that “It was going to work out for the best”, Humphries revealed in the interview.

Additionally, DJ, 30 also explained his mom’s feelings at the moment when the Cardinals drafted him first-round draft pick in 2015. “She’s so excited that it all worked out,” he stated. It indeed showcased that his mom has played a vital role in shaping his career trajectory.

Interestingly, beyond his mom, the Chiefs OT’s young athletic dad also played an elemental role in making him what he is today. Just like him,  DJ Humphries Sr. is also a former football and basketball athlete. Interestingly, his dad excelled in his athletic dominance in high school.

Allegedly, despite having more interest in Division I football programs, Humphries Sr amazingly played both sports at Presbyterian College in Clinton, South Carolina. Seems like D.J. Humphries was quite lucky to have been brought up by his father. Apprently Humphries Sr. became a parent at the tender age of 15. He might not have mastered all of the parenting lessons at first, but it did not affect his determination to be present in his son’s life at all times. Probably, his unique style of upbringing helped him to become an NFL star.

Allegedly at age 12, he decided to live with his dad. And, truly, it worked out well for him. Earlier during an interview in 2015, Humphries revealed his “tough’ upbringing by his dad. The NFL OT stated that his dad was too strict. Additionally, he was never hesitant to chastise him when he fell out of line. “Oh, yeah. (My dad was) very hard (on me),” he added.

Apart from that, he also went on to express his thoughts of having a young dad in his life. “I think it was just because he was so young. A lot of the stuff, like I said, he didn’t know any better. For a lot of the stuff he knew the answer was ‘crack-the-whip.’ That was his answer to a lot of stuff. I feel like it made me who I am today, don’t get me wrong. I feel like it made me who I am today, but he was definitely hard on me.” he further added. Thus, he has really ” paid off” it very well. It is no wonder that his current NFL standings in just because of his parents’s unwavering support.
