Doug Pederson, the HC of Jacksonville Jaguars has indeed a strong backing from his family! The Super Bowl-winning coach, Pederson has raised a beautiful family with his wife, Jeannie, whom he calls the “cog in the wheel.” Together they have raised three sons, i.e., Drew, Josh, and Joel Pederson. Being raised in an athletic family, they have indeed built their distinct identity.

While Josh plays professionally with the Jaguars, his other sons Drew and Joel have also built their own paths. Not only this, seemingly, Doug believes in the philosophy of letting his children “do what they wanted,” and carve their own niche.

Who are Drew Pederson, Josh Pederson, and Joel Pederson

Doug’s oldest son, Drew, played football at Samford University. He developed a passion for football at a young age, serving as a ball boy in the high school where his father coached. Talking about it, Drew recalled, “As a young kid, I was the ball boy for my dad…I said I couldn’t wait to get on the field as a starting quarterback.

And even though he had faced multiple setbacks, including a severe ankle injury, he played nine games in 2014 as a backup QB. Drew described it as “one of the hardest things I ever had to do,” and was known as the “injured star” who rooted for others.

Doug’s second son, Josh Pederson plays as a TE for the Jacksonville Jaguars. Joining them in July 2023, after playing a season in USFL with the Houston Gamblers, he made significant records.

He has also been associated with the San Francisco 49ers, New Orleans Saints, and Kansas City Chiefs. Talking about coaching his son, he adds, “It’s like any other young player coming in and competing… Part of me is the coach, part of me is the dad side of it.”

Besides Drew and Josh, Doug’s youngest son is also athletically involved. As Doug’s coaching journey required the family to travel with him, including four years in Louisiana, four in Philadelphia, and three in Missouri, Joel and his brothers were exposed to football early on, which they carry with them.

Do Doug Pederson’s children play professionally?

Doug’s middle son, Josh Pederson, plays professionally as he made his NFL debut with the Jaguars back in 2023. Even though Drew played football in college and Joel in high school, Josh found a roster placement with the NFL.

Talking about it, he adds, “Being a tight end, I’m not really following in [Dad’s] footsteps. It’s kind of in the same path, but not exactly in the same footsteps.” Evan Engram, who is Josh’s teammate, reflected about Josh’s temperament. “He’s been real eager to learn… He does not take it for granted, and it’s pretty cool just to see the dynamic.”

For Doug’s wife, Victoria, she is indeed proud of Doug’s legacy, and her children. “That’s a big deal. The Pederson name has been known around here because of Doug. He went here and did big things.” And, truly the Pederson family reflects the spirit of athleticism.
