Who are Jarrett Kingston’s parents?

Father Bill and mother Heather are Jarrett biggest supporters. He has two brothers: Trent, who is younger, and Grant, who is older. A big happy family! And needless to say, they have always been incredibly supportive of him. After a four-year drought without making the playoffs, Kingston transferred to Anderson. Initially, the plan was for him to play junior varsity for a year or two. However, when the varsity team achieved a 5-7 record that qualified them for the postseason, a few players from junior varsity were called up, and Kingston was one of them.

Bill Kingston, Jarrett’s father, remembers his son was only 15 at the time when he had to sign a waiver for him to play. During the week leading up to their first playoff game in five years, the offensive line coach observed Kingston and informed Bill that he might have been better off playing on the varsity team all season. When the game began, Lassen dominated Anderson with a score of 48–7. At one point, after an interception, a defender caught Kingston off guard and knocked him down.

Bill recalled, “One kid came over, blindsided him, and knocked him on his face.” It was amusing because Kingston didn’t let it get him down for long. By his sophomore year, he was starting on Anderson’s varsity team. Bill also joked, “I told him, ‘Hey, you’re playing big boy sports now,’ which made it even funnier. You better start looking around to hit someone after you make an interception, or you’ll get hit yourself.” Bill’s advice flipped the script on Jarrett’s career in a big way!
