Meet Jayden Reed’s parents

Jayden Reed, the son of the late Sabian and Kesha Reed, was born on April 28, 2000. They have had a big impact on their son’s development as a good football player. Jayden Reed’s father was Sabian Reed. Sabian was a sports enthusiast and a mail delivery man. Sabian went suddenly from heart and kidney problems when Jayden was fifteen years old.

Even though Jayden Reed’s father’s death really affected him, he persisted in pursuing his passion, which eventually enabled him to succeed. His mother Kesha Reed has been his greatest supporter since he was a kid, sticking with him no matter what. He never fails to recognize his mother’s encouragement along the road.

Sabian Reed used to stop by almost every practice of his son. Then the games would begin, and Jayden Reed would take off down the field following another Thorne throw. Reed would often hear his father say, “Come on, Bird!” as he proceeded to reel it in.

Not that Sabian Reed wasn’t interested in his son carrying on the family name. He’s always wanted him to be able to fly. Because of the way he flailed his arms at peak speeds, with his hair tips seeming like feathers in the wind, they called him “Bird.”

After the 24-year-old wide receiver’s parents decided it was time to move to the suburbs, the young man completed his seventh grade in a violent area of Chicago’s West Side. He signed on with the Naperville Chargers, a Pop Warner squad. They were hoping he would settle in with his new companions fast. They were unaware of how much he would ultimately rely on them.

Reed wakes up on September 13, 2015, surrounded by nervous pals. After a birthday sleepover, it was six in the morning when he was informed they needed to go to the hospital. He found out that his father had passed away and arrived to an embrace from his brother—the only one he can recall them sharing.

Sabian Reed has spent years enduring conditions pertaining to his kidneys and heart. He had persevered to shout at Bird from the stands and distribute the letters to homes in the neighborhood. Not barely an hour before he passed away from a stroke, he had brought him to that birthday party.

“He was very similar to me: always happy, very caring and supportive. He would do anything for anyone he loves,” Jayden Reed said. “I got a lot of what I am out of him.”

Reed was a sophomore at the more recent Metea Valley High School in the Chicago suburbs. His classes quickly became quiet. Rather than working, he would put on his headphones and draw his hood snug over his flyaway hair. “He pushed me in everything I did. Everything,” Reed said of his father. “I didn’t know how to handle it. I felt like I had nothing left.” He further added, “His smile pops up in my head all the time. I close my eyes and he’s there,” reflecting on his father’s memory.

To sum it up, Jayden Reed’s success on the field is a powerful tribute to his father’s memory and his mother’s steadfast support, showcasing the lasting impact of their love and guidance.
