Justyn Ross has a strong support system! The Kansas City Chief wide receiver recently left everyone awestruck with his sensational catch during preseason training camp. However, it is not just the professional’s skills that have got the fans talking but unwavering support from the stands in the form of his mom, Charay Franklin. The bond between the two is full of love as Ross mentioned, “I love telling my mama that I got us,” showcasing his responsible and caring side. Charay Franklin, born on May 29, 1983, in Alabama, served in the Navy and the Alabama National Guard. She instilled in Ross the discipline and work ethic that fueled his NFL dreams to pursue a remarkable sports career.

Ross’ beloved mom attended Central High School in Phenix City. According to Fabwags.com, Charay has received her graduation degree from Florida State College in Jacksonville, Florida. Passionate for her career, she could not just stop here. After completing her bachelor’s degree, she decided to serve the nation. In this move, she joined the United States Navy, and later in 2008,  she served in the US Army.

Given her responsibility toward the nation, Ross’ mom had to leave her 2-year-old son with his grandma. Although miles away, his mom communicated with him every morning and after school. “I had something to wake up to. It brightened my day a lot because I just got to talk to her without anyone else interrupting, just me and her,” Ross recalled about his mom.

But because he used to spend a lot of time with his grandmom, Ross has immense love and affection for her. Even when he was drafted by the Kansas City Chiefs in 2022, he expressed his love for her second mom through a social media post. The football player posted a video, reiterating his grandmother’s timeless words. “Just like my grandma always tell me, Just put it in God’s hands nd let em work.,” he mentioned this by adding the blue heart.

Justyn Ross holds his mother in high regard and shares a very strong bond with her. In 2018, he planned to dedicate the Clemson Tigers’ first Military Appreciation Day game to his beloved mom. The Chiefs’ wide receiver demonstrated his love for his mother by highlighting Franklin’s influence in his life on Military Appreciation Day. During that time, Ross was selected to carry the American flag down the Hill for the Military Appreciation Day game.

The Loving Bond Between Justyn Ross and His Military Mom

Remarkably, the Phenix City, Alabama native carried the U.S. national flag before Justyn’s game against The Citadel. At that moment, the player expressed his emotions about his mother’s presence at the game. “Yes, she will be here. I mean, it’s military appreciation. I just want to dedicate this game to my mother, just because of what she has done and what she has been through,” he remarked.

However, he later disclosed that the Military Appreciation Day game left a lasting impression on his mother. “She was telling me that it meant a lot to her because I took my official visit on Military Appreciation Day, so it does take a big toll on her,” the NFL wide receiver stated.

Not only this, six years ago, when he was a freshman athlete at Clemson in 2018, he shared a captivating snapshot with his mother, embracing and full of emotions. The post caught significant attention as it showcased his unconditional love for her. Justyn Ross’s love and respect for his mother have indeed been the guiding light that has helped him reach the current standings in his life.
