Matt Nagy was tailor-made to serve as the Chiefs offensive coordinator. Just look at his glittering coaching resume. In his 24 years of coaching tenure, Kansas City was the place where Nagy truly shined. It all started back in 2013 when the Chiefs hired Nagy as their QB coach from the Eagles. He then went on to earn a promotion two years later by taking up the role of OC in the 2016 season. After almost four years in Chiefs Kingdom, Nagy tried his hands as a head coach for the Bears.
Well, all we can say is it didn’t serve Nagy too well. Within four years at the helm of Windy City, Nagy was fired with a record of 34-31. And guess who came calling again? KC took him back and made him the senior assistant within Andy Reid’s coaching staff. Right now, Nagy serves the role of OC, having helped the Chiefs win two Super Bowls back-to-back. Seeing his success with Kansas City won’t really surprise those who know Nagy’s background. He had coaching blood running through his veins, thanks to his dad.

Who is Matt Nagy’s Dad?
Nagy didn’t just find himself coaching players out of interest. His dad, Bill Nagy, exposed him to the coaching world and helped the Chiefs OC learn the coaching traits he now possesses. Bill was a football coach himself for 10 seasons at Elizabeth High School. He even reached the pinnacle of his coaching career by leading the Minutemen to a state championship during his time in New Jersey. What made that moment with Elizabeth more special was that Matt was there to witness it all live.
Nagy was cheering from the stands at Giants Stadium while possibly dreaming about being in his dad’s shoes one day. You wanna know something interesting that happened on that day. Well, Nagy wasn’t the only future NFL head coach at that ground. Current Buccaneers head coach Todd Bowles was a player for Elizabeth. That means Bowles once played under his father’s guidance. Like Bill’s coaching roots aren’t just limited to his son. It also runs far and wide in the football world. There goes Matt Nagy’s dad. Now, it’s time to know what role his mom played in the Chiefs OC’s life.
Who is Matt Nagy’s mom?
Anyone who didn’t know Matt’s parents weren’t that close? His mom, Gail Stouch, and Bill Nagy divorced when he was just 3 years old. So, Nagy didn’t really witness a lot of joint family while growing up. Because of his parent’s separation, Nagy left his dad and moved in with his mom. They left New Jersey and moved to Pennsylvania. Now, there isn’t a lot of information available on Nagy’s mom. It seems like they had a pretty quiet life growing up away from the public eye.
But besides his personal life, Nagy is doing a hell of a job in Kansas City. The Chiefs OC already has two Super Bowl rings and could soon add a third if the Chiefs complete a historic 3-peat.
