Doug Pederson’s Jaguars career is at risk! Seemingly, the Jacksonville Jaguars’ start is not good enough to leave an impact on higher authorities. Following the consecutive three defeats in the starting 3 games of the 2024 NFL season, a question has been raised about Doug Pederson’s coaching style. Amidst this, the Jacksonville Jaguars owner and business tycoon Shahid Khan seems determined to get the Jaguars their first win at any cost.

According to a ProFootballTalk‘s X post, Shad Khan demonstrated his expectation to win from the team. The latest Tweet caption read, “Jags owner Shad Khan, last month:Winning now is the expectation. . . . Make no mistake, this is the best team assembled by the Jacksonville Jaguars, ever. Best players, best coaches. But most importantly, let’s prove it by winning now.””

Clearly, Doug has failed to fulfill the winning expectations in the last playoffs during Week 1, Week 2, and Week 3 against Miami, Cleveland, and Buffalo. Thus, it raised speculation about Doug Pederson’s replacement for the Jacksonville Jaguars’ head coach. With the team consistently facing losses and players not performing to their full ability, it’s time to start analyzing Jaguar’s coaching options. But is there anyone who can be Shahid’s best fit as Jaguars’ head coach? Yes. There is a long list of NFL veteran candidates who can be a better replacement for the Jaguars’ current HC, Doug Pederson.

Candidates who might replace Doug Pederson

Lions offensive coordinator, Ben Johnson, could be one of the best picks for the Jaguar’s head coach. As Johnson wants a favorable salary, the Pakistani-American business tycoon and Jaguar owner might only meet his expectations by offering him the best contract for this position. Amidst the Jaguars’ current losing situation, with his amazing coaching strategy, he could be the better for Jaguars’s QB’ Trevor Lawrence and offensive weapons, including Travis Etienne, Brian Thomas Jr., and Evan Engram’s career.

Besides, Johnson, another offensive coordinator coach’s name has been brought up for the Jags head coach position. It is none other than the New Orleans Saints’s offensive coordinator, Klint Kubiak. Under his leadership, the Saints nailed in starting 2 games in Week 1 and Week 2 of the current season. With its astounding stats, New Orleans became only the fourth team since 1922, to earn 91-plus points in their first two games.

Not only that, but Kubiak has helped to reinvigorate Derek Carr’s career. As a consequence, he could represent a better alternative for Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Lawrence’s career.

Apart from Klint, there is another big name in the NFL, which is none other than Bobby Slowik. He can take the HC charge better than Pederson. Currently, running the offense in Houston Texans, Slowik undoubtedly shaped Texans QB, C. J. Stroud’s career trajectory.  Reportedly, Stroud had one of the best rookie seasons in NFL history. Not only this, but with the 13 ranks in scoring (22.7 PPG), Slowik’s offense is seemingly better in 2024. Thus, his mentorship could be a momentary flash for the Jaguars.

Additionally, several big names in the league including Jaguars defensive coordinator Ryan Nielsen, Dolphins offensive coordinator, Frank Smith, and Bears offensive coordinator, Shane Waldron are reportedly the best picks for the Jaguars HC.
