Kristen met Britt while she was working as a media relations intern for the Philadelphia Eagles. During the time, the same NFL team also employed the father-son duo. But their marriage didn’t work.

“(Our) marriage relationship has been destroyed and we can no longer live together as husband and wife,” stated Kristen in her divorce filings. The couple had been married for more than a decade. Kristen has three children with Britt: daughters Somers and Saylor, and a son, Maverick.

Kristen is a public relations and communications graduate from Temple University. Before marrying the former Chiefs’ coaching staff, Britt, she excelled in her modeling career. After the marriage, she became a sought-after influencer for all things Chiefs. And many wonder if it was Britt’s extensive run-ins with the law that caused this breakdown of marriage.

Andy Reid has to deal with his troubled son

Britt’s legal troubles began in 2007 when he was sentenced to 8 to 23 months in prison on drug charges. The same year, he was involved in a road rage incident as well, which was settled out of court. The following year, he stepped into the coaching role just like his dad. And continued to be a part of the Chiefs’ coaching staff until 2020. Because of his legal issues, Reid was not offered a new contract.

However, things didn’t stop there. As per reports, in 2021, he was involved in a car crash that left multiple people injured, including a 5-year-old girl with a traumatic brain injury. Ariel Young was in a coma for about two weeks and in the hospital for about two months. Owing to this, the Chiefs had announced they would pay for her medical expenses.

In court, Reid admitted that he had been drinking before the Feb. 4, 2021 crash. He pleaded guilty in September 2022 to felony DWI.

He was sentenced to three years of prison, which recently has been amended to house arrest till Oct. 31, 2025. “Reid had completed his alcohol abuse treatment program and has served more prison time than most individuals convicted of similar offenses,” Gov. Parson spokesman Johnathan Shiflett said.
