Bennie Wylie Parts Ways With the USC Trojans: Contract, Salary, and More

Wylie’s tenure as USC’s director of football sports performance ended in 2025, and he is no longer a part of the USC football staff. The team is opening up one new position on Lincoln Riley’s coaching staff. Primarily, when USC hired Riley in the fall of 2021, he brought in four staffers with him from Oklahoma. And Bennie was one of those who spent four seasons with the team.

We are grateful for the many contributions Coach Wylie has made to our program throughout the last three seasons. This is a difficult decision, but we are committed to positioning our program to compete for national championships as we continue to move forward into the 2025 season and beyond, said Riley. Bennie’s exit was “strictly a football decision,” as per a person familiar with the situation but not authorized to speak publicly. However, the exact reasons for his dismissal have not been made public yet.

Regarding compensation, he started with Oklahoma at $350,000 in 2018, which increased substantially to $430,000 by 2021. But his salary with the USC is not disclosed on any public platforms. As USC transitions into a new phase, this departure marks a significant shift in the team’s leadership and strength.
