In today’s NFL, it’s rare to find a guy like James White! Maintaining his cool under pressure and showing consistency off the field as he was between the lines, he is a force to be reckoned with. Scoring the game-winner, making the greatest comeback in Super Bowl history, his stats speak for themselves. The former New England Patriots running back didn’t just win rings. Winning three Super Bowls (XLIX, LI, LIII) while he played in four, he has carved a name in history.

But behind everything is a woman who has been riding with him since college, i.e., Diana Civitello White. Being the anchor in his life, fans are equally invested in knowing more about her.

Who Is Diana Civitello White?

Diana Civitello White has indeed played a key role in her NFL husband’s success despite maintaining a low profile. Raised in Elmhurst, Illinois, Diana met James White at the University of Wisconsin in the early 2010s. Here, she majored in biology while James racked up yards for the Badgers. She was a year behind James and graduated in 2014. After her biology degree, she later pivoted to accounting as she made it to the Dean’s List at Southern New Hampshire University in 2017.

Since the pair got together, Diana has always been by his side. On the sidelines, at post-game dinners, and in interviews, she accompanies him everywhere. During a 2017 ESPN segment, as James blanked on his brother’s age, without missing a beat, Diana stepped in. “28,” she added.

In March 2017, James pulled out a diamond and asked her the question during a beach walk in Fort Lauderdale. “I’d seen about 100 [rings]… I already knew,” he said. Fast forward to March 13, 2021, the couple got married at the W South Beach, as his NFL mates like LeGarrette Blount showed love. “Congratulations @sweetfeet and @dianacivii love y’all!!” he wrote. Ever since the pair got together, they have remained inseparable.

A bond of eternal love

The process of starting a family is not easy; it requires commitment and sacrifices. And, it is evident in the story of the Whites. In September 2019, James skipped a Patriots game to witness the birth of their son, Xzavier. “Good win fellas!” he tweeted that night.

Xzavier turned one shortly after the passing of James’s father in 2020. And in 2021, they welcomed their daughter while James was dealing with a brutal hip injury. As he was physically wrecked and felt vulnerable, Diana was by his side to support him.

Not just their family, they are also building something that will last. They seek to make a real impact with The Sweet Feet Foundation, as it is focused on educational equity for underserved students. James remarked, “I just want to play my part and do whatever I can to help, especially the younger generation, achieve their goals.” Truly, the couple has been achieving wonderful feats together.
