While John Elway made headlines for leading the Denver Broncos to two Super Bowl victories and etching his name into the Hall of Fame, his personal life took a transformative turn post-retirement. He divorced Janet Elway, his wife of 19 years, in 2003. In 2005, during former Raiders RB Marcus Allen’s celebrity golf tournament in Los Angeles, Elway met Paige Green—a former Oakland Raiders cheerleader with a heart for service. The two quickly connected, and three years later, they tied the knot at a private ceremony in Italy on August 30, 2009.

Initially, they were dating casually. After their first date, Green had famously said, “Well, we’ve all been on first dates. It either gets better or worse from there. In this case, it got good enough that I moved to Denver a year later. We pretty much live one day at a time.” Over the years, the bond developed into love. She was never married and had no children. But the gentleman side of John Elway did score a touchdown in the game of love. They later got engaged in 2008.

Even after 18 years of marriage, the couple doesn’t have any children. While the legend already has 4 children, Jessica, Jordan, Jack, and Juliana from his first marriage, Paige Green likes spending her time with her dogs, Prince Charles, Prince William, and Prince Lyle. The NFL legend also loves playing with them.
