Cooper Kupp is making waves for his return from his injury!  The Los Angeles Ramsstandout WR has been sidelined since week 2. During the Rams vs Arizona Cardinals match in week 2, he suffered an ankle injury. And, allegedly, he is fit now and all set to play in Week 8 of the NFL season. Clearly, the Rams did not place him on injured reserve, so his return to the field is quite surprising.

Reportedly, Kupp, 31, will play on Thursday night’s football match against the  Minnesota Vikings.  And, NFL senior journalist, Adam Schefter confirmed the same news about the Rams veteran WR’s returning from injury.

Taking to his official Instagram account, Schefter announced the news of  Super Bowl LVI MVP’s returning in week 8. “After a week’s worth of full practices, Rams WR Cooper Kupp is off the injury report and expected to play Thursday night vs. the Vikings,” he mentioned in his post caption.

He also posted Cooper’s vibrant picture in his post. Since the post surfaced on the internet, his fans seem excited to see him play again.

However, Kupp is not the only player who will make his return this week. But, Rams’ other WR, Puka Nacua is also reportedly making his return from the injured reserve for the practice this week. He missed five games due to his knee injury sustained in week 1.

Cooper Kupp’s trade rumors

Last Tuesday, The Athletic’s  NFL reporter, Diana Russini, and other journalists disclosed Ram’s plans to trade their star WR. The Los Angeles Rams have discussed with teams about a “potential trade involving star wide receiver Cooper Kupp, league sources said,” NFL insiders asserted.

Not only that, but they reported that the Rams (2-4) could possibly be geared up to take on some of Kupp’s 2024 salary if the proper deal comes up. NFL insiders stated that the Rams are open to “taking on some of Kupp’s remaining salary in 2024.”

Clearly, Kupp’s basic salary this year is $15 million, with a cap number of $29 million. Allegedly, former, Eastern Washington player additionally owns a roster bonus of $7.5 million in March, with $5 million guaranteed. So one thing is absolutely clear. Even if the Rams pay some of Kupp’s salary this season, he has cap hits of $29.78 million in 2025 and $27.33 million in 2026. Do you know what Buffalo lacks right now? There’s enough cap space.

According to Over The Cap, the Bills, current value will not suit to his trade. They presently have a limited $2.68 million this year and around $10.75 million in 2025. And, it is pretty much less. Moreover, the Rams are looking for “a second-round pick.”

Even though there are no doubts regarding his talent, durability impeded Cooper Kupp’s ability to build a dominant season back in 2021. Leading the league in catches (145), receiving yards (1,947), and touchdowns (16), he also earned Offensive Player of the Year and Super Bowl MVP honors. But, in 2024 he has only played two games which has extensively limited his trade regardless of his past excellence.
