Looks like the Dolphins‘ playoff hopes have suffered another significant hit. The team has seven wins and eight losses and, therefore, cannot qualify on just their own. They would need a couple of teams to lose their games, and they need two consecutive wins to stay in the playoff race. However, it appears that luck is not on their side as their quarterback, Tua Tagovailoa, is not looking good just before a big game.

If you may recall, Tua Tagovailoa has a horrible history of hip injuries. He suffered a serious hip injury in 2019 that kept him out for a long time. And it appears that several new plays have revived old wounds. Yes, you guessed it correctly: the quarterback has suffered a hip injury, making him uncertain for the Week 17 matchup. It’s a big game for the Dolphins, and while the quarterback is trying his hardest to play, the team may go with their backup quarterback. The reports claim, “Dolphins are downgrading Tua Tagovailoa to doubtful for Sunday’s game at Cleveland due to a hip injury, per sources. Tagovailoa still is pushing to play Sunday, but if he can’t, Tyler Huntley would be in line to replace him.”

In Tagovailoa’s absence, Tyler Huntley will enter the field. And everyone knows that he is a great quarterback with four years of NFL experience. But let’s be real, it could be difficult for him to fill Tua Tagovailoa’s shoes. Especially when the team is in a make-or-break situation. If Huntley leads the squad in this game, this will be his fourth game this season.

And with so much hope and pressure from the start of the game, the 26-year-old might struggle. But he is not alone in this scenario. In Tua’s absence, WR Tyreek Hill will be somewhere not settled for the game too.

Tyreek Hill and Tua Tagovailoa had a busy practice week

For those who missed, Tyreek Hill conducted a post-game interview following the win over the 49ers. There, the WR admitted that he is still dissatisfied with the team’s overall offense and wants to develop it more. The man explained that there are numerous elements influencing this. But the WR’s desire for continuous work with QB Tua Tagovailoa is a key factor. He believes that there is only one way to improve the Dolphins’ situation.

After the Dolphins won with a score of 29-17 in that game, the WR claimed, “I feel like, at the end of the day, I need those valuable reps with Tua. Those vet rest days are starting to show. I completely blame myself for not getting my head around and not seeing the ball because, if I see a ball, we’re talking cross-court, 70-yard touchdown.”

It is logical to assume that the QB-WR combination would have practiced extensively following this victory. And if Tua Tagovailoa is out for week 17, such practice is unlikely to come in helpful. Only time will tell what will happen, including if Huntley will lead the team. So, until then, remain tuned to us to discover out.
