With the Falcons slipping up once again this week, the Bucs only needed a win against the Raiders to leapfrog them into the top of their division. And they just did that with the help of Baker Mayfield, who might have jokingly called himself the worst player on Sunday.

Giving his post-game thoughts, Baker Mayfield said, “I think, by far, I was the worst player on offense but other guys stepped up.” But was he really? Mayfield racked up 295 yards with three TDs in Tampa Bay. However, those two interceptions that he threw must have led to calling himself the worst player on the gridiron. Apart from the interceptions, Mayfield also turned the football over a staggering three times within the first half.

There were even instances where Baker Mayfield either threw his pass over his teammates or under them to cap off a wobbly 18-of-29 pass completions. To help you understand the Bucs’ struggles a little better, they didn’t have control of the game until the final 9 minutes in Tampa. Rachaad White’s 3-yard TD run helped the Bucs get some breathing space by capturing a lead of 21-10. And that could be a possible reason that Mayfield chose to praise his team after winning today, “Resilient group. This team’s got the mental makeup to handle anything. We play for each other.”

Well, the injuries were a major problem for the Bucs even in week 14. Their running back, Bucky Irving, had to leave the field due to a back injury during the second quarter. Then wide receiver Ryan Miller joined him on the sidelines with a concussion in the final quarter. Both of them were later ruled out, thereby adding to the woes of the Bucs’ mounting injury troubles.

But if you are talking about injuries, the Raiders might just be the unluckiest team in the NFL. After Sunday’s clash, they will now have only one QB on their roster to rely on.

Aidan O’Connell’s injury adds to the Raiders QB troubles this season

The Raiders were already without their starting QB, Gardner Minshew, because of his season-ending collarbone injury against the Broncos. So, coming into Sunday’s clash in Florida, the Raiders had to rely upon Aidan O’Connell. However, they just can’t catch a break, with QBs falling like cards every week. With minutes left in the third quarter, O’Connell went down injured with a knee injury. After being on the receiving end of a late hit by the Bucs defensive tackle Calijah Kancey, the Raiders QB couldn’t continue.

Well, the injury was so bad that he had to be carted off the field on Sunday. He even had an air cast attached to his left leg when the Raiders ruled him for the remainder of Sunday’s clash. Although he did give a thumbs up to the crowd before leaving the field, Raiders HC Antonio Pierce gave a concerning update. After the game concluded, Pierce said his knee injury “doesn’t look good.” Now, with O’Connell out of the picture, the Raiders have to call upon Desmond Ridder.

He is the only active QB left on the Raiders roster as both Minshew and O’Connell deal with injuries. As for the Raiders, their season is over with a loss to the Bucs this weekend. They remain rooted to the bottom of the AFC West with a dismal record of 2-10.
