Zach Wilson is not the only football lover in his family

The Wilson clan is composed of his parents, who got married in 1997 and have four sons and two daughters from their almost 27 years of marriage. Wilson shares his love of football with his brothers, who are all into the sport. His younger brothers, Micah and Josh, play at BYU, while Issac is a quarterback in high school. Wilson’s parents are to credit for instilling this fervor for football in their kids.

Mike Wilson comes from sports experience, having played at the University of Utah before Zach even entered the world. The former lineman later became the coach for his kids, when Wilson was a five-year-old. Despite his initial hesitation, Mike went on to enjoy guiding young boys, including his son, on their sports journey.

“I am like, ‘I am not coaching. I’ll do anything they want so I can be involved, but I’m not going to be the coach,” Mike shared with the Desert News. “I had no idea how much I would enjoy it, or enjoy working with my boys or coaching other kids.” With Mike assuming the on-court position for Wilson, Lisa motivated and cheered her son on behind the scenes. She gained popularity when she was spotted supporting Wilson at his draft.

When Lisa sent the internet into a frenzy

Lisa Wilson caught the internet’s attention when she was photographed with Wilson at his draft in 2021. The mother of six runs an online small accessory business and also posts cooking recipes on her Instagram. When Wilson became the 2nd pick for the Jets, his mom shared the spotlights, having intrigued the fans.

A lot of fans were enamored by Lisa’s looks and took to the internet. Wilson was put in an awkward situation when an interviewer asked him about his reaction to fans gushing over his mother. Wilson responded to Craig Carton, saying that the situation wasn’t exactly “his favorite,” but added that he’s grateful for her being by his side, as per TMZ. “She’s an awesome lady, and I love having her support.”
