The man who won 16 Gold Gloves has sadly departed from this world. The whole of Baltimore is in a state of deep shock as their legendary baseball player passed away on Tuesday. Affectionately known as “Mr. Oriole,” this Hall of Fame third baseman left behind a legacy of defensive stardom that has gone unmatched to date in baseball history.

Becoming a part of the Orioles Family in 1955, Brooks Robinson will forever hold a special place in the hearts of sports enthusiasts. His nickname, “The Human Vacuum Cleaner,” reflects his extraordinary skills on the field. They posted a caption that reads, “We offer our condolences after the passing of @orioles legend Brooks Robinson.” In the tribute note, the Ravens owner Steve Bisciotti expressed, “Brooks Robinson is iconic – not just in the game of baseball, but in Baltimore as a whole. Few people captured the hearts of a community like Brooks. His charm, kindness, and class truly made him one of a kind. We thank Brooks for the countless moments of impact and joy he brought so many people. His legacy is everlasting.

They also extended their condolences to “his wife Connie, his children Brooks David, Chris, Diana and Michael, along with his friends and all the fans who loved Brooks dearly.” Furthermore, head coach John Harbaugh, also shared his tribute along with the note of Bisciotti, saying, “May God forever bless him and the entire Robinson family.

Born in 1937, the Arkansas native participated in 18 All-Star Games and spent his entire 23-year career playing for the Orioles while donning the No. 5 jersey. Robinson won the AL MVP award in 1964 with a .318 batting average, 28 home runs, 118 RBIs, and a .267 on-base percentage over 2,988 games. He hit 268 home runs and drove in 1,357 runs in his career. On his passing, fans are remembering the legend with heavy hearts.
