Denver Broncos’ YouTube Channel uploaded a video of the press conference, where HC Sean Payton shared his thoughts on their upcoming home game against the Jets. Moreover, Payton described the on-field prowess Gardner and Surtain possessed.

Highlighting the similarities, Payton said, They’re long all right. So they transition well, they can run, they’ve got good instincts, and so you know when those guys press, and take away certain routes, and then those 5050 balls become like 7030. You know they’re just harder because of the length and the athleticism.”

He continued, “I think that’s the thing you see a confident player on tape, you know for him to come in his first year and play like he did you know that uh that’s hard to do.”

Gardner and Surtain are standing strong with 15 and 13 tackles respectively in the 2023 NFL season so far. Both these cornerbacks will meet at Empower Field at Mile High on a Sunday night matchup.
