Stephen A. Smith had doubted Lamar Jackson’s ability on national TV, and he got a fitting reply from the Baltimore Ravens QB! Stephen asked his viewers on ESPN’s First Take if the Ravens were getting their money’s worth. The $260 million QB was, for a short time, the highest-paid player in NFL history. However, his seven fumbles in the season so far drew sharp criticism from the First Take host.

The Detroit Lions seemed invincible with just one loss in the entire season. But in the first quarter itself, the Ravens managed to keep them at 0, while securing a 14-point lead for themselves.

Lamar Jackson secures an early lead for the Ravens

After just 5 minutes into the game, with the ball at the 7-yard line, Lamar Jackson made a run for the end zone. And touchdown! The run resulted in a 75-yard opening drive and gave the Ravens a 7-0 lead over the Detroit Lions. With this Jackson recorded his fifth TD of the season and is now tied with Jalen Hurts for the most number of rushing TDs inside the 20-yard line.

Just when we thought the Ravens could not play a better start against the formidable Lions, with just 3 minutes to go for the first quarter… another touchdown! This time, Jackson found Nelson Agholor in the end zone and threw a 12-yard pass. As the first quarter drew to a close, the Ravens were ahead of the Lions by 14 points.
