This NFL season has witnessed the making of multiple historic records and rivalries. Whether it’s the showdown between Patrick Mahomes and Kirk Cousins, the rivalry between coach Sean Payton and OC Nathaniel Hackett, or Robert Saleh facing off against Bill Belichick, this season has been filled with historic and revengeful rivalries. Once again, this Thursday night is set to unveil another chapter in history as the Kansas City Chiefs host the Denver Broncos at their home ground at 8:15 p.m. ET.

In their head-to-head record, the Chiefs have an impressive 15-0 winning streak against the Broncos. However, it’s worth noting that the last time Russell Wilson (Seattle Seahawks) faced off against Mahomes, Wilson emerged victorious, defeating the 28-year-old star quarterback. The question now is whether history will repeat itself with Wilson defeating Mahomes again, or if a new history will be made by defeating Wilson. The answer to this question will only be revealed on Thursday. For now, Wilson is cheerful about his team’s injury report, despite having ruled out three players.

Although just a day ago Russell Wilson praised Patrick Mahomes and his team, he will now be rejoicing over an offensive update. The Broncos have released their final injury report ahead of their matchup with the Chiefs on October 12. Running back Javonte Williams is no longer on the injury report and is highly likely to rejoin the team at Arrowhead.

Williams is making a strong comeback after suffering a torn ACL in Week 4 last season. His recent hip injury, which occurred in Week 4, had raised concerns, but after sitting out the last game, the RB, who was dealing with a quad injury, was back in full practice on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Williams is considered a solid RB2 or even a high-ceiling flex player who could potentially be a game-changer, especially if coach Sean Payton utilizes him as he once relied on Alvin Kamara in New Orleans. Williams has demonstrated his ability to elude defenders, earning him a ranking as the 10th-best RB in the league.

His return is expected to significantly bolster the Broncos’ chances of securing a victory over the reigning champions. In addition to Williams, several injured players, including Lloyd Cushenberry (Quad), Mike Purcell (ribs), Justin Simmons (hip), and Justin Strnad (back), will also be available to play against the Chiefs. However, three players have been ruled out for the October 12 matchup, including D.J. Jones (knee), Baron Browning (knee), and Frank Clark (illness). Greg Dulcich (hamstring) is the only one still listed as questionable.

With the addition of Williams, Wilson’s team appears to be in strong shape for this game. But what about the Chiefs? Who are the players from the Red Sea unavailable?

What does the injury report for the Chiefs say?

While Javonte Williams is set to make his return for the Broncos, the Chiefs are also welcoming back Nick Bolton, who missed the last three weeks. Bolton is a vital component of the Chiefs’ defense and had been dealing with a sprained ankle sustained during the game against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Throughout the week, the 23-year-old linebacker had participated in limited practice, but by Wednesday’s practice, he was listed as a full participant, indicating his readiness to face the Broncos. As for Travis Kelce, who suffered an ankle injury in the last game, he was limited during Monday’s practice.

However, the reports from Tuesday and Wednesday indicated that he was still among the limited participants, putting him in the questionable category, but with a likelihood of playing against the Broncos. Additionally, players like George Karlaftis (hamstring) and Tommy Townsend (left knee) were similarly listed as questionable.

Conversely, previously injured players such as Matt Dickerson (knee), Mike Danna (rib), Trent McDuffie (quad), L’Jarius Sneed (knee), Kadarius Toney (toe), and Drue Tranquill (knee) are all set to take the field at their home ground. This injury report indicates that the Chiefs are entering their next matchup with a strong roster.
