Russell Wilson’s team may not be performing at their best, but he sure is getting used to the Broncos’ way. Jalen Hurts has led the Eagles to a 5-1 season start. The Baltimore Ravens are at the top of their division, led by Lamar Jackson. However, a recent comment by sports journalist, Stephen A. Smith may have overshadowed all of that. What was more astonishing was how he walked back on his last week’s statements about Jackson.

After a rather rude comment about Jackson’s performance by an anonymous NFL executive, it was Stephen A. Smith who first blasted Jackson on the show First Take. But then he stepped back when confronted by the ever-hilarious Kimberley Martin. However, his co-host Martin did not take kindly to it and defended Jackson. The question here is, does Lamar truly deserve the criticism?

Stephen A. Smith posed a provocative question to Ravens fans, “Are Ravens getting their money’s worth from Lamar?” In April of this year, Lamar Jackson signed a $260 million extension that made him the highest-paid NFL history for some time, before being eclipsed by Jalen Hurts and Joe Burrow. He currently holds the title of most fumbles in the 4th quarter in the NFL at 11. “He also leads all NFL players with 7 fumbles!” Stephen screamed at the camera. However, Kimberly Martin would not let her co-host trash Lamar.

And a team is as good as its weakest player. No matter how many TD passes Jackson throws, if his WRs and TEs drop them, it’s lost points.
