When Swifties scanned the US Bank Stadium for any sign of Taylor Swift, they were disappointed. In the Kansas City Chiefs vs. Minnesota Vikings game, Swift betrayed fans by missing what would have been her third appearance at a Chiefs game. And as luck would have it, that very game her rumored beau, TE Travis Kelce, slipped on the artificial turf of the stadium and hurt his ankle. He threw his helmet in frustration, but thankfully for fans, he returned in the second half and handed the Vikings a 27-20 defeat.

Now as the Chiefs are set to face off against a 1-4 subdued Broncos, will the Taylor’s absence turn out to be a bad omen for the Chiefs? Or… is Taylor actually going to attend? In spite of the world premiere of her The Eras Tour movie concert on the same day as the Chiefs game.

Taylor Swift mixes politics with football

In a surprise move, the Mayor of Kansas City took to X (formerly, Twitter) to make a surprise remark. A message that Swift had been waiting eagerly for. Mayor Quinton Lucas wrote on X, “Welcome back to Kansas City today, Taylor Swift!“. Yes, this means what we had been speculating all along. Taylor Swift is going to be at Arrowhead Stadium for the Chiefs vs. Broncos game! He also said that when there are so many other serious matters to discuss, a possible allusion to the ongoing Israel-Palestine War, “having a little levity isn’t bad”. It seems that the Mayor is as excited as Swifties are and wants to get “swept away”.

This will be her second appearance at Arrowhead Stadium after her September 24 appearance made headlines. After the game, the two rumored lovebirds, Kelce and Swift, were seen cruising around Kansas City in Kelce’s convertible. Fans, however, are wondering how she will fly to Kansas City from California, which is 1617 miles away in time for the Chiefs vs. Broncos game. She is currently in Cali for the world premiere of her The Eras Tour concert movie. The Mayor of Kansas City may be excited by the spotlight that her appearance will bring to his city. But many are not happy with this development.
