The New York Jets are heading into their Week 5 game on Sunday. However, a recent update related to player injuries could hamper the Jets’ road to success, causing yet another concern to arise for the Jets’ QB Zach Wilson. It has been more than 20 days since coach Robert Saleh’s Big Apple has secured a victory.

Their last win was against the Buffalo Bills, the same game in which Aaron Rodgers suffered an Achilles tendon injury within five minutes of the game’s kickoff in his debut with the Jets. Since then, Gang Green has struggled in their subsequent games. Just when Jets fans were starting to breathe a sigh of relief after seeing a good comeback in the team’s last game against the Kansas City Chiefs, an injury this week could be a cause for concern for the team and its head coach.

Who is listed this time in the Jets’ injury report?

The New York Jets released an injury report on Wednesday ahead of their matchup with the Denver Broncos. Three defensive players from the team were listed as non-participants. The team’s second-string cornerback, Brandin Echols, has been officially ruled out for Sunday’s game against Denver, after suffering a hamstring injury at MetLife.

Cornerback DJ Reed’s availability is uncertain due to concussion symptoms as well, and he faces the NFL’s concussion protocol, making his clearance for the October 8 game against the Denver Broncos uncertain.

Linebacker Samuel Eguavoen, initially expected to be limited, was also listed as a non-participant. The situation becomes tricky with Echols playing a key role in crucial matches, along with Eguavoen.

On the positive side, starting safety Tony Adams returned to practice on Wednesday after a two-week absence due to an ankle injury, and backup offensive guard Wes Schweitzer also returned in limited practice. Furthermore, Mekhi Becton (knee), Jarrick Bernard-Converse (foot), and Carter Warren (shoulder) were, too, the limited participants for the Jets on Wednesday.

The Orange Crush team made significant roster moves on Wednesday. They released edge rusher Randy Gregory and wide receiver Michael Bandy. In addition, cornerback Essang Bassey was waived as per reports. Wide receiver Tre’Quan Smith was assigned to the practice squad according to a recent update.

Later, Bandy re-signed with the team and was added to the practice squad, leading to the promotion of Dwayne Washington from the practice squad to the active roster. Furthermore, two more players, cornerback K’Waun Williams (ankle injury) and offensive lineman Alex Palczewski (hand injury), are eligible to return from injured reserve later this week.

This reflects their return could result in further important transactions to strengthen the team, a similar perspective to their coming oppositions, the New York Jets, who will look to secure a good replacement for the injured players.
