In Week 6, on Thursday, the Kansas City Chiefs beat the Denver Broncos at Arrowhead Stadium. The competition was expected to be a difficult bet for the Broncos with the form the Chiefs hold currently. However, the face-off was also expected to host a little intrigue with QB Patrick Mahomes and Russell Wilson playing against each other. Yet, the match did not seem to bring in any excitement for the fans.

The match is the 16th straight loss of the Broncos against the Chiefs. In NFL history, this is the longest active losing streak by a team against another, showing clear dominance of the Red Army over the Denver team. Now, after Week 6, the Chiefs are 5-1 in the league, whereas the Broncos are 1-5. The Broncos are at the bottom of the NFL and it seems like even Wilson could not do wonders for the Broncos.

Former Pro Bowl and Super Bowl champion Russell Wilson joined the Broncos last season. In the post-match conference, he said, “The past is the past we’re focused on today.” He continued, “We got to play them in two weeks or however many days and so we got to be ready to go again.”Although he has been trying to be positive and not criticize his team’s performance, the Broncos’ fans have continued to remain disappointed with their side.

The quarterback himself has good numbers to display along with having had a fairly stable performance. This season, he has 1,305 yards with 12 touchdowns and only 4 interceptions. Wilson looks to be in the process of pushing the Broncos side as much toward the right drive as possible. He can be seen to still believe that the Denver team can make a turnaround, but if they don’t want to repeat their past record, they need to start working in that direction immediately.

Way forward for the Denver Broncos from here

At the beginning of the season, the Denver Broncos had to digest the most humiliating defeat in the NFL as the Dolphins brutally dominated them 70-20. Even in the Week 6 match, everybody was expecting the Broncos’ defense to be one of the worst in the NFL. Surprisingly, it was the offense that missed hitting the golden opportunity, while the Broncos’ defense kept the Chiefs’ offense in check

Usually, Wilson performs better than his team, but in Thursday’s game, he performed so poorly that he had the lowest passer rating in a game during his 12-year NFL career.

The Broncos’ next game is on October 22nd against the Green Bay Packers at their home stadium. This season has not been good for the Packers, with a 2-3 record in the league. The Broncos will look to change matters their way by grabbing a motivational victory on the home turf.
