What a week for Denver Broncos fans! After losing two back-to-back matches, the Broncos triumphed over Aaron Rodgers’ old team, the Green Bay Packers. It was a close 19-17 win, but it came at a time when fans were in despair and there were even opinions afloat that Russell should be benched. This match was an even one because both the defense and the offense put up a great show. Going ahead, the Broncos have tougher opponents, but was this last match the mid-season turnaround that they had been waiting for?

Broncos fans are hopeful that their latest win won’t make Russell Wilson and Co. complacent. However, in the post-game interaction with the media, it seemed like Wilson was not yet ready to see the threat that the Chiefs posed.

A reporter asked Wilson how he and his team were planning to buckle up for the Chiefs game on Sunday. The Chiefs are at the top of the AFC West division and have won 6 straight games. “First thing is, we gotta celebrate this one,” Wilson said without answering the reporter’s question upfront. He then waxed poetic about how difficult it is to win a game at the NFL. And how he and his boys deserve a small break and a period of celebration before thinking about the next one. The Chiefs also won last Sunday, but we think they’re already prepping for the next one.

But the Chiefs are about as tough as they get and they will need every second of prep time to beat them. The 2023 season being Wilson’s 12th year in the NFL made him appreciate each and every win.

Wilson’s three-point strategy to beat the Chiefs

Russel Wilson said, “Number one, belief is everything.” It takes a mighty amount of self-confidence and trust in yourself to push through, even after losing five games out of seven. So, learning to believe in yourself and your team is his first takeaway. His second takeaway is, “Execution when it matters most”. You can have a great strategy and a great team, on paper, but if you fail to execute it when it matters most, then all the planning will amount to nothing. Lastly, staying relentless in the face of adversity. The Broncos have challenging games up ahead and they need to keep working hard to win more.
