The Chargers invested in Justin Herbert with a massive contract extension worth up to $262.5 million. They believed in his ability to secure wins, especially in challenging games like the one they lost at SoFi Stadium. They had high expectations for Herbert, counting on him to make up for the team’s weaknesses. However, Herbert’s performance has fallen short, and the team currently holds a 2-3 record this season. Late in the first half, with the Chargers trailing 10-7, Herbert missed a critical pass to Keenan Allen, who had an open opportunity near the Cowboys’ 20-yard line. When the Chargers initiated their final drive from their 25-yard line, with just 2 minutes and 19 seconds remaining, Herbert couldn’t even secure a first down.
