Kyle Pitts is perhaps the hottest non-quarterback prospect in this year’s draft. The Gators tight end is garnering a lot of interest from several NFL franchises this year.

Despite the depth of talent at the quarterback position in this year’s draft class, Pitts has caught the eye of several executives and teams.

However, one former quarterback believes that Pitts could be the piece that turns the Arizona Cardinals into Super Bowl contenders.

Former NFL quarterback Dan Orlovsky spoke about the Arizona Cardinals being linked to Kyle Pitts. He noted that the Cardinals believe they have a chance to win a Super Bowl in the coming years.

Not only is Kyler Murray excellent, but he is also on an affordable contract. Pitts would be another option to add for the offense and give Murray more choices when he’s throwing the ball downfield.

2021 NFL Draft: Why Kyle Pitts is the Perfect Fit for Atlanta Falcons

“The Cardinals have shown us with their actions that they believe they’re in the Super Bowl window because Kyler Murray being such a good player, and still cheap.

“Their offense is still missing a catching threat. DeAndre Hopkins is remarkable. And they brought in Jay Green. But they still need another weapon on the outside… He (Kyle Pitts) is just really a wide receiver in kind of this spread offense.”

Kyle Pitts could make the Cardinals Super Bowl contenders

Orlovsky added that the Cardinals GM would have to call the Falcons to trade their picks to get the 4th overall pick. Orlovsky believes that if the Cardinals are able to draft Pitts, that would make them Super Bowl contenders.

Kyler Murray is an exceptional quarterback, and Pitts could be the Travis Kelce to Murray’s Patrick Mahomes.

“If I’m Steve Keim, the General Manager of the Cardinals, I’m calling Terry Fontenot and (going) ‘okay, I’ll give you the 16th pick and the 49th pick, and then I’m only going to start with my second-round pick for next year.

“Just to see if I can get him to bite. If you told me the Cardinals went and got Kyle Pitts, I can legit sit here and say they’re a Super Bowl contender. Kyle Pitts is such a special player that he immediately becomes Kyler Murray’s Travis Kelce.”

Should the Cardinals trade up to draft Kyle Pitts? They have a strong team currently, and the addition of Pitts would only make them stronger contenders.

However, they will have to trade up in order to get Pitts. And convincing the Falcons to relinquish their 4th overall pick will be a challenge.
