Rashawn Slater is feeling confident going into the draft. The Northwestern offensive lineman had a strong 4 years in the purple and white but is now ready to move to the NFL.

This year’s NFL Draft has an abundance of talent at several positions, and Slater is just one of the many young stars. However, Slater believes that he is a cut above the rest of his fellow tackles, calling himself the best in the draft at the position.

Northwestern offensive lineman Rashawn Slater spoke recently about the upcoming NFL Draft. He believes that he is the best tackle in this year’s draft class, which makes him really confident heading into the draft.

However, Slater does emphasize on the fact that he is a team player and doesn’t put his own interest above winning. He can and will play whatever position the coach asks him to if that will help the team get a win.

“I think I’m the best tackle in the draft. So I have a really high level of confidence about that, but at the same time, I’m a team player.

“If a team wants to play me at guard, I’m all for it. As long as that’s what’s best for the team, I’m happy to play whatever position they need me at.”

Slater could be a high 1st-round pick in the 2021 NFL Draft

Slater’s comments exhibit the confidence he has in himself. A major key to success in the NFL is confidence. Many times, we have seen strong draft prospects crumble under the pressure of the NFL because they lacked confidence.

However, Slater is showing that he is not afraid of the spotlight, but also that he won’t be playing for himself out there. These comments will only do good things for Slater’s draft stock.

Slater is one of the top prospects at his position in the draft. He sits only behind Penei Sewell in NFL.com’s official prospect rating, with 6.70.

Slater could be a major catch for any team that is looking to strengthen their offensive line. Currently, several mock drafts project him to be an early 1st-round pick.

Where will Rashawn Slater end up in the draft? There are teams like the Atlanta Falcons and the Cincinnati Bengals that really need an offensive tackle.

However, we could see a team outside of the top of the draft trade their way up to secure Slater. Regardless, Slater will be a good pick for a team looking to protect their quarterback.
