Carlton also played for the Saskatchewan Rough Riders of the Canadian Football League and the London Monarchs of the World League of American Football.

Carlton Lance even made the practice squad for the NFL franchise San Francisco 49ers. Thus it’s safe to say that football runs in the family bloodline.

Carlton met Trey Lance’s mother, Angie Lance, back in college. The two stuck through Carlton’s career as a globetrotter and thus are aware of the life that comes with having an athlete in the family.

Angie is a 1993 alumna of Southwest Minnesota State and currently works at Schwan’s. Together, the couple has two children, Trey and his younger brother Bryce. Bryce, a wide receiver, also enrolled at North Dakota State and is set to play for the Bisons in 2021.
