After moving on from his lifelong team, Adam Thielen has seen his life change upon leaving the Minnesota Vikings. The WR moves on from the Vikings after relatively little success. In his time at the Vikings, the franchise only managed to reach the NFL playoffs four times. But they won their divisional championship thrice in his stint. Now, Thielen will be preparing for his new adventure with the Panthers in the offseason.

After being released by the Vikings in March, Thielen found a home quickly as Carolina Panthers moved in for the WR to add him to their roster. With the new season now weeks away, Thielen has taken up another sport to help him better focus on football.

Eisen asks Thielen, “is that the same thing for you too the concentration level is even greater in golf than football Adam?” Adam Thielen goes on to respond, “that’s probably why that’s probably what I love most about the game. And, and really why I try to um challenge myself by playing competitive golf in the off season.” Thielen shares his reason behind playing golf. He adds, “it’s really the only way that I can prepare myself mentally for uh a game.”

Thielen has been playing golf for a while now, as he participated in the American Century Championship last year. Thielen talks about golf and how it helps him. He says, “To really challenge your brain mentally in a competitive atmosphere. I just believe that golf is the greatest way to do that.” Thielen goes on to add as he shares about the only swing that matters is the next one. He says, “the ability to forget about the last swing, that might have cost you a shot or might have been a beautiful golf swing….because every shot is so important”. The former Vikings WR is one of the top NFL names in golf. But he is not the only one to have taken up golf during their NFL career, or after retirement.

When it comes to NFL players and stars taking up golf, Thielen is not the first nor the last. Thielen calls out another Pro Baller in the current NFL world who is one of the best golfer. In the conversation with Rich Eisen, Thielen earmarks Aaron Rodgers to be one of the best Putters he has ever seen. He says, “you got Rogers who who is the best putter I’ve ever seen. Whether that’s a pro golfer or not.” Aaron Rodgers is right alongside some of the greats of the NFL with his golfing abilities, including a former Super Bowl Champion, Peyton Manning.

In the last couple of weeks, Manning teamed up with Shaq to go a couple of rounds on the golf course. This was right before the Nuggets were in town for the NBA finals. Manning called up Charles Barkley to take on Shaq and Sean Payton as the city builds up to the Finals. Tom Brady is another name linked with golf as a former NFL star. He took on Bryson DeChambeau and Aaron Rodgers back in 2021 alongside Phil Mickelson.
