Former New England Patriots cornerback Asante Samuel has been quite an outspoken critic of MAGA supporters since the 2024 presidential election. Earlier this year, the two-time Super Bowl champion took a brutal swipe at Trump supporters by mocking MAGA, and now, the 45-year-old has once again dropped his controversial political take on X.

“Do you believe the 2024 election was rigged?” Asante Samuel noted on X on May 25. “I most certainly do.”
His definitive stance immediately divided the netizens. Some conservative followers applauded him for using his platform to voice skepticism over the election results. A wave of critics and sports fans also pushed back and pointed out the lack of evidence in his claim.

I most certainly do.

This isn’t Samuel’s first time causing a stir online with his political opinions. The two-time Super Bowl champion has been a frequent and vocal critic of the MAGA movement. In March, the former cornerback took to social media to take a swipe at Donald Trump’s base.
“If Trump told you there was a (sic) NFL game tomorrow, you would believe it,” Samuel wrote on X while taking a jibe at MAGA supporters.
Back in 2024, he also publicly clashed with former NFL running back Le’Veon Bell during the lead-up to the presidential election. Bell had announced on X that he would leave the country if Kamala Harris defeated Donald Trump.
Samuel wasted no time firing back, telling Bell to “do us all a favor and please leave now.” The former Patriots cornerback even joked about launching a GoFundMe campaign to personally finance Bell’s relocation expenses. Then, Samuel had lamented the toxic political climate.
He posted that it was “a shame” how Donald Trump had his followers attacking others. He also devised a new slogan, “Make America Trumpless Again.” Recently, young New York Giants quarterback Jaxson Dart sparked an uproar by introducing Donald Trump at a weekend campaign event. Samuel couldn’t resist weighing in on the fallout.
Asante Samuel blasts Jaxson Dart over Donald Trump appearance
Asante Samuel ensured he weighed in on the viral controversy surrounding Donald Trump and New York Giants quarterback Jaxson Dart. He also took a lighthearted jab at franchise legend Eli Manning.
The former Patriots cornerback took to X this week to post a mock dialogue. In the satirical script, Samuel hilariously imagined the behind-the-scenes briefing that Donald Trump’s campaign team must have given for the joint rally with Dart in Suffern, New York.
“Trump: Who have we got coming today? DOJ: The best we could get is Jaxson Dart,” he posted on X. “Trump: Who? DOJ: He is the starting QB for the Giants. Trump: What’s something good I can say about him? DOJ: Not sure yet. Trump: F–k it… I’ll think of something. Is he on track to be a Hall of Famer? DOJ: No, President Trump, he was a rookie last season.”
And then, when a fan commented, “I miss Eli,” Samuel responded, “Many people would say I was his favorite receiver.”
Samuel’s Eli Manning reference stems from Super Bowl XLII. It was when Samuel dropped a potential game-clinching interception late in the game. Moments later, Manning escaped a sack and completed the iconic David Tyree “Helmet Catch.” The Giants went on to beat the previously undefeated Patriots 17-14.
The Donald Trump-Jaxson Dart controversy began on Friday when the Giants’ second-year quarterback appeared at a political rally at Rockland Community College in New York. The event was organized to support Rep. Mike Lawler’s reelection campaign.
