Chris Jones’ emotional 2023 tweet has aged well in retrospect

If there’s anything the fans respect more than a Super Bowl trophy, it’s a player’s loyalty to their first-ever NFL team. In recent times, it was Jason Kelce who retired with the Philadelphia Eagles after 13 seasons. Though he only won 1 Super Bowl with the team, his loyalty accounts for more than his success. Now it looks like Chris Jones is next in line to be an example of utter loyalty to his Draft team.

Back in 2023, Jones addressed his transfer rumors and tweeted this. He said, “I’m a chief for life. I will not play for another franchise.” Now, after his 5-year extension deal, it looks like Jones’ prophecy might just come true since he would want to stay with the Chiefs for the entirety of his NFL career. Thus, the Chiefs are heading to the 2024 season in the hopes of winning the Super Bowl for a third consecutive time and Chris Jones will be gladly joining the ride.
