The former running back for the New York Giants has dashed the dreams of Jim Harbaugh to acquire him. Jim Harbaugh, the recently appointed head coach for the LA Chargers, has been on a mission to redefine the squad for the upcoming season. And in an effort to improve the offensive line, he wanted to bring Saquon Barkley to the squad but unfortunately, that won’t be happening anytime soon.

Saquon Barkley, the former running back for the New York Giants, is a phenomenal athlete who has been with the team since 2018. Dave Gettleman, the former manager of the Giants, drafted Barkley in 2018 at number 2, but after 6 years of pouring his heart out for the team’s glory, Saquon has decided to move on and sign with the New England Patriots. The former cornerback for the Patriots, Darius Butler talked about this recent transfer and seemed enthusiastic about it.

On the latest episode of the ‘Pat McAfee’ show, Darius Butler joined in to talk about the exit of Barkley from the Jets and how he will contribute towards the Pats’ offense. Additionally, he also mentioned how the dynamic duo of Jalen Hurts and Saquon Barkley will be a two-edged sword for Jerod Mayo’s team.

Butler said, “I love this. This is a great signing. He got his money but he’s healthy. He’s still gonna be motivated. Can’t wait to see that. But you’re gonna be behind very good offensive line, a much better offensive line and he’s been running behind in New York. And then you got Jalen Hurts, also a running threat as well so that takes eyes off the box as well. I can’t wait to see Saquon out there and then Bryce Huff, that was a huge signing on the defensive side.”

Saquon Barkley’s earlier wishes of staying with the Giants for the rest of his career have seemingly run their course. Barkley has agreed to a three-year contract, worth over $37.75 million with the Pats. The Giants’ despise over Barkley was seen through the words of Tiki Barber, who spoke hard words against the RB. Barber said, “He’s dead to us now. You’re dead to us, Saquon. Good luck. You’re dead to me.

After this, Barkley didn’t take too kindly to the statement and issued his response in retaliation. He said, “@TikiBarber lol yup you’re the prime example of loyalty to a team.. I got the deal I wanted, secured more gm which wasn’t given to me before… so if fans are gonna hate me for that so be it! But I never turned my back on my teammates and always had theirs.” Though the tweet was later deleted, it is apparent that the new Pats’ RB is ecstatic about his new team and will want to turn a blind eye to the constant hate from the Giants’ fans.
