In the latest episode of The Big Podcast with Shaq on YouTube, the newest guest was Carolina Panthers legend Cam Newton. The former quarterback is known for his unique dressing sense and blunt personality. This was also evident in his latest interview where he drew some massive comparisons with a former US President and NBA legend Shaquille O’Neal.

Newton is also coming fresh off a brawl at a U-18s event he was attending. He explains why the situation escalated and discusses his problems with Shaq on the show, giving the fans more insight into the fiasco.

Cam Newton compares Shaq’s aura to Obama’s stature

It’s not newfound knowledge that Shaquille O’Neal’s aura is palpable, as the NBA legend is a part of almost all the most significant celebrity events globally. His larger-than-life persona and charismatic personality made Newton compare him to Obama’s stature. Obama was always appreciated for his words and speaking skills, which can be parallel to Shaq’s comic timing and humorous personality.

According to Newton, Shaq’s ability to remain true to himself in various spheres of his life, whether it is movies, music, or sport, has empowered him despite often being the butt of jokes about his colossal height. “I have to say this, you know what I’m saying? Um, this dude is more plugged than Barack Obama, like not many people have a presence like Shaq,” Newton said on the podcast that he is concerned about Shaq’s ability to make his presence felt wherever he goes. This exchange between two athletes from different sports showcases their mutual respect and admiration for one another.

Cam Newton opens up on the brawl

While Cam Newton was present at the event to showcase his support for the young footballers, things worsened. Two men offended by the trash-talking attacked Newton immediately, calling for law enforcement to intervene. While talking to Shaq, Newton opened up on the brawl, saying, “I just have to be better. And I want to use this as an example for athletes, entertainers, people of influence. That is a high target for people who want to chill out with friends.

This showcases his high self-introspection level and his aim to grow into a better man. Being a famous sports athlete comes with much media coverage and responsibility to people who look up to you; hence, Shaq and Newton discussed responsible behavior and moral duties towards their fans.
