Now that the NBA’s GOAT is supposedly nearing the end of his legendary career, speculations are being raised about the NFL GOAT, Tom Brady, and what could have been. The 7-time Super Bowl-winning Brady retired in February 2023, and fans have long believed the reason stems from Gisele Bundchen and his family.

LeBron James, the player for the Los Angeles Lakers, has completed 21 seasons in the NBA. After the recent loss to the Denver Nuggets in the NBA Playoffs, it is rumored that James will consider retirement. Since James is the NBA’s oldest player, age will play a big role in hanging up his cape sometime soon. That said, here’s how Nick Wright of Fox Sports correlated his potential retirement to Brady’s love of the game, which still seems unproven.

Wright said, “So at some point, he’s just gonna have to be like, “I guess I’m done. I’m stopping.” And that’s kind of what happened with Tom. Like I understand the Bucs were not good Tom’s last year but the year before, he almost won MVP. He still threw for a million yards, he’s better than half the quarterbacks today. And he just stopped and I understand there was family stuff he’s dealing with, I get it. But I think every time someone puts a microphone in front of him, he clearly is like god damn it, I want to play football. I miss playing football and you know he’s gonna be with Fox and calling games and maybe that’ll scratch the itch.” Thus, they believe that Brady’s new job at Fox Sports might change his mind and help him come out of retirement yet again. With all that said, here are Brady’s words on whether he’d return to the gridiron anytime soon.

The name of Brady is permanently etched onto the fans’ tip of the tongues. He’s relentlessly asked about returning to the NFL as the legendary quarterback, but he’s held off all possibilities for such a situation. Recently, he appeared on the Deep Cut podcast, discussing playing in the off-season while being a team owner.

Brady said, “I’m not opposed to it. I don’t know if they are going to let me if I become an owner of an NFL team. I’m always going to be in good shape. I’ll always be able to throw the ball. So, to come in for a little bit, like MJ [Michael Jordan] coming back, I don’t know if they would let me. But I wouldn’t be opposed to it.” Thus, the return of Brady to the NFL would shake the sport to its core, but it looks like the former Patriots’ QB has decided to hang up his jersey for good now.
