Robert Griffin III, known for his hot sports takes on X, is branching out.  The former quarterback is now diving into hip hop, mainly banking on the “lyrical war” between Drake and Kendrick Lamar.

Once upon a time, these two were allies, and Kendrick even opened for Drake’s tour in 2012, where they collaborated on a song.  They and J. Cole were once considered the “big three” of rap. But their friendship crumbled as Kendrick distanced himself, saying, “It’s just big me.”  Thus, over the past decade, they’ve traded barbs through diss tracks on their albums. Now, the feud’s hotter than ever, with Drake’s “Family Matters“ sparking a response from Kendrick in “Meet the Grahams.“  

RG3 creates a safe space for Drake and Lamar battle

The morning of May 3 started with quite an explosion in the rap world. Drake and Kendrick Lamar dropped their diss tracks back-to-back. First, Drake’s “Family Matters“ hinted at domestic violence allegations against Lamar. The Compton native quickly fired back with “Meet the Grahams,” taking things further. Lamar’s verses were like an open letter to Drake’s son Adonis, saying, “Sorry that that man is your father.“

He also revealed that Drake has a “secret daughter,“ taking the allegations to the next level. Now seizing the moment, RG3 took to his X handle to post, “All hip hop fans, this is a Safe Space. Who is winning right now, Drake or Kendrick?“ Fans eagerly waiting for such a “safe space“ flooded in, eagerly debating and showing their battle skills with words. This high-stakes feud has turned RG3’s page into a hotbed of hip-hop drama.

Team Kendrick Lamar defends their star in rap feud

Kendrick Lamar fans flooded RG3’s safe X space, ready to defend their favorite rapper.  A Lamar fan jumped in, arguing why Kendrick won the battle.  “Kendrick. Euphoria > Push Ups, 6:16 in LA > Taylor Made, Meet the Grahams > Family Matters,“ he posted. Another fan joked, “K Dot… but we need those receipts!“ referencing Lamar’s lyrics about Drake wasting money and losing his receipts trying to dig up dirt. Another simply declared, “Kendrick… Drake’s body is cold. It’s over.“ 

Even neutral fans chimed in, with one commenting, “There Are No Safe Spaces!!“ Another tried to bring closure, writing, “It’s a tie… a lot of allegations gotta get cleared up after today.“ Thus, fans dissected the feud, throwing personal and family drama into the open. Now, the rappers can settle for a while as fans continue to dissect their every lyric.
