You know that one person who just can’t let things go? That’s basically Terry Bradshaw when it comes to Aaron Rodgers. The Hall of Fame quarterback turned broadcaster has been throwing haymakers at Rodgers for years now, and his latest shot might be his most brutal yet.
“It would have been nice if (Rodgers) would have just come to the Naval Academy and learned how to be honest,” Bradshaw fired off, clearly still heated about that whole COVID vaccination mess from 2021. Remember when Rodgers got caught lying about his vaccination status, then tested positive and missed a game? Yeah, Terry sure as hell remembers, and he’s not letting it slide.
The thing is, this isn’t some new beef. Bradshaw’s been coming for Rodgers’s neck for quite some time now, and with all the controversy swirling around the Jets quarterback lately, Terry just couldn’t resist stepping back into the ring for another round. Let’s just get this straight – Terry Bradshaw offering his old No. 12 to Aaron Rodgers? Not happening. And honestly, Rodgers probably wouldn’t want it anyway. These two have about as much love for each other as a Jets fan has for the Patriots.

Bradshaw went full savage mode this week when it came to the Steelers potentially chasing after Rodgers. Pro Football Network dropped this gem on their X handle Tuesday: “Steelers legend Terry Bradshaw calls the team’s interest in Aaron Rodgers ‘a joke.’ Said Bradshaw: ‘That guy needs to stay in California. Go somewhere and chew on bark and whisper to the gods out there.'” Is that what Terry feels about A-Rod?

But here’s the thing – Bradshaw’s not just throwing shade for the fun of it. He’s actually got a point about Kenny Pickett getting a raw deal in Pittsburgh. “I liked Kenny Pickett,” Bradshaw said. “I liked him at Pitt. And I know him, I know what he’s like. And when they got him to Pittsburgh, here’s what they didn’t do. They didn’t protect him … they didn’t get him an offensive line. They wanted to run the football. But they didn’t have an offensive line that could protect. And they didn’t have weapons. He had no wide receivers to speak of.” The Steelers are basically willing to roll out the red carpet for Rodgers. That’s because they think he’s their ticket to not sucking in 2025.
But what does success even look like here? Just making the playoffs? Winning a playoff game? Making it to the conference championship? For Rodgers, he just needs one decent season to make everyone forget about that disaster in New York with the Jets. But Steelers fans? They’re probably dreaming a lot bigger than just being “not terrible.” And judging by the reaction to Terry’s comments, fans have plenty to say about this whole mess.
What’s your perspective on:
Is Terry Bradshaw's criticism of Aaron Rodgers justified, or is he just holding a grudge?

The great Rodgers divide: Fans pick sides in Terry’s comments
The Aaron Rodgers to Pittsburgh rumors are reaching a boiling point. And Yahoo Sports isn’t wasting any time. Jason Fitz, Frank Schwab, and Charles Robinson jumped right into the veteran quarterback circus, breaking down what Rodgers’s recent hints about donning black and yellow actually mean for the Steelers.
But Terry Bradshaw’s savage takedown of the whole situation has fans split right down the middle. While some Rodgers supporters are losing their minds over Bradshaw’s “chew on bark” comment, others are actually backing Terry up. One fan kept it real: “Lmfao. Truth hurts.” Another one doubled down: “People are getting triggered because it’s true. It’s time to move on.” And there was this gem: “He is not wrong.” The whole thing’s dragging on forever, which is exactly what’s driving people crazy.
Rodgers met with the Steelers back in March and even threw to newly acquired receiver DK Metcalf after that meeting. Steelers owner Art Rooney II said Thursday the team was willing to wait “a little while longer” for Rodgers to make a decision, but fans are getting restless.

Of course, not everyone’s on Team Terry. Some fans are calling him out hard: “Bradshaw has always been a Rodgers hater.” Others think he crossed a line: “It’s cruel and unkind of Terry Bradshaw.” Here’s the reality check. Rodgers is 41 and coming off a weird season with the Jets. Sure, 28 touchdowns against 11 interceptions look decent on paper, but the team went 5-12, and their offense was straight trash.
The Jets basically said “Thanks, but no thanks” by signing Justin Fields to a two-year deal and letting Rodgers walk. So now we’re all sitting here wondering if Terry’s brutal honesty is spot-on or just plain mean. Either way, this whole saga is far from over.
