You know what they say—leave football before football leaves you. Terry Bradshaw, Steelers legend, did just that, stepping away from the game when he felt the time was right. But did he really leave? Not quite. From broadcasting booths to sideline chats, he’s stayed close to the gridiron. Recently, though, fans have been chatting about whether it’s time for Bradshaw to hang up his microphone too. Why, you ask? Oh, just a little “voodoo” moment that’s got the internet chattering.

In classic Bradshaw fashion, he’s stirred up some online drama, and not the game-analysis kind. While previewing the Saints’ week 8 matchup on Fox NFL Sunday, the 76-year-old took a quirky turn, leaning into New Orleans’ culture with some…well, let’s call it “spirited” advice.

As the Saints, plagued by injuries, stumbled to a 2-6 record, Bradshaw offered a unique solution: a voodoo revival. “I called — you guys ready for this?” he joked, referencing Saints coach Dennis Allen and adding a little New Orleans charm. “I believe in voodoo, like all the people do in Louisiana.”

And with that, Bradshaw launched into a line from Bobby Bare’s classic “Marie Laveau,” evoking the legendary voodoo queen herself. Now, that’s just out-of-ordinary. And if you are new, then know that this is the kind of weirdness that comes in with Terry on Sundays.

Look, no matter the unexpected twist, Bradshaw wasn’t wrong about the Saints needing a boost. And it was not hard to notice why he called them out. But it was how he did it had fans question if he’s fit to continue like this.

Time for Fox and Terry Bradshaw to say their goodbyes?

Lately, Terry Bradshaw’s sideline antics have fans divided. Some think it’s just Terry being Terry, while others are convinced he’s gone a little too far (maybe, a little crazy). After all, nearly three decades in broadcasting will take its toll on anyone. One fan summed it up bluntly: “It’s time to truly retire Terry, God bless you.” And just to make sure the message hit home, they tagged the NFL on Fox, hoping to send a nudge their way.

But the real tipping point? The nod to Marie Laveau. Well, she was New Orleans’ famed voodoo queen. Sure, Bradshaw’s co-hosts managed to keep their composure (out of respect, maybe?), but fans? Not so much. With a dose of dark humor, one put it like this: “It’s time to put sleepy Terry Bradshaw out to pasture.”

The reactions were quick, especially from those who remembered Angela Bassett’s iconic portrayal of Laveau in American Horror Story. Bradshaw’s mention of the voodoo queen didn’t sit well with everyone, though some couldn’t resist the laugh, writing: “Big Tech needs to use all their time and energy making an AI Terry Bradshaw.” That’d be something, wouldn’t it?

Others have different ideas for Fox’s lineup. One fan pitched the idea of Tom Brady as Bradshaw’s replacement, stirring up the nostalgia pot: “It would be best for Tom Brady to move to FOX NFL Sunday replacing Terry Bradshaw.” Why? Ah! For a cheeky Patriots reunion.

They even threw in a few more lineup suggestions: “Reunite Olsen with Burkhardt in the lead booth. Charissa Thompson, Julian Edelman, and Gronk replace Curt, Howie, and Jimmy. Strahan can stay.”

Think it’s really time for Fox and Terry to call it quits? Maybe, just maybe, he might have to leave this scene, too. And that won’t mean the end of Terry and football, no.
