Antonio Brown, the former WR for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, has been imprisoned by the federal authorities. The 35-year-old has been a known figure of controversy ever since his exit from the Chiefs in 2021. Since then, he’s been the center of several public antics that have only gotten progressively worse. In recent news, it seems as if his blunders of the past have finally caught up with him.

Brown quit the NFL to invest in the Albany Empire of the National Arena League. Unfortunately, his team was kicked out of the league as Brown failed to pay the mandatory fees on time. After that, there was the infamous situation where he threw his pants out to a couple of fans, with his phone still inside it. Now, it is Brown’s scandalous child support case that has come back to haunt him, as he has been officially convicted over the same.

In the latest news, it has been revealed that Antonio Brown has been imprisoned after a consistent lack of failure to procure an adequate amount of child support for his ex-wife. He shares a daughter with his ex-wife, Wiltrice Jackson, with whom he was involved in a custody battle for a long period.

On April 14, an order was issued against Brown for failing to make child support payments, but he wasn’t convicted. He was given the opportunity to prevent being arrested if he paid a minimum amount of $30,00. He then later took to Instagram and shared a screenshot of a receipt that proved that he had indeed transferred over $33,260 to Jackson.

Later, though, it was his ex-partner’s comments that grabbed the media attention. She informed the sources, “I do want him arrested because, right now, he’s making a mockery out of the judge, out of everything, because he feels like he’s untouchable.” She had prior to this reiterated how Brown owed her about $31,000 worth of child care amount.

In lieu of the recent events, it is sad to see Brown waste his potential away after he had several chances to be one of the best WRs in the NFL, a chance that very few have the privilege to receive.

How did Brown’s career look like during his time in the NFL?

Antonio Brown played for the Bucs from 2020 to 2021. Often regarded as one of the best receivers of the 2010s, Brown had more receptions than any player in the NFL from 2010 to 2018. He was able to win the Super Bowl with the Bucs in 2021 before his alleged battle with the team which led to his release. Thus, he’s been out of the NFL for good and has chosen to remain a free agent ever since.

Brown was truly a player with exceptional talent who could’ve very well gone the mile to prove to be Tom Brady’s successor. He had an outstanding record during his time in the NFL but couldn’t survive the burden of his controversies. Though his return has been rumored several times, it doesn’t seem probable that the NFL would sign him anytime soon.

Will Brown ever be able to make a return to the NFL? Or was his career done when he chose to walk away from the Buccaneers?
