There has never been a dull day on FOX NFL Sunday; thanks to Jimmy Johnson, Terry Bradshaw, and Howie Long. Back in February 2023, they had quite a hilarious interaction after Bradshaw was unable to pronounce the name of a shoe company during their Super Bowl pregame coverage. He was explaining, “I made $30,000 my first Super Bowl year, and I didn’t have enough money to fly my mom and dad down to get them a hotel room. So this shoe company came along called [Puma].” Unfortunately, the man butchered the pronunciation.

Curt Menefee, Howie Long, Michael Strahan and Jimmy Johnson all burst out laughing. Menefee was quick to state, “Obviously, they didn’t give you enough because you can’t pronounce them.” This caused all the analysts to roar in laughter once again. Hey, that’s just another day in the office for them.

After all, they have been working together for so long. This year, their show finished its 31st season. FOX NFL Sunday is still the top dog when it comes to pregame shows, pulling in an average of 4.4 million viewers this year alone. And yes, it’s still holding onto that crown as the most-watched NFL pregame show for over three decades. But here’s the kicker: there’s way more to celebrate than just the numbers. And that’s the legend trio: Jimmy Johnson, Terry Bradshaw, and Howie Long.

Jimmy Johnson, the Cowboys legend and longtime FOX NFL analyst, had a special message to share with fans or, we can say, the entire country. He took to X to show the journey he has had with Terry Bradshaw and Howie Long: “Terry, Howie & I started 31 years ago….been a GREAT RUN!

It’s safe to say that it has been one heck of a ride, and FOX Sports couldn’t be any more proud of the milestone. Starting back in 1994, FOX NFL Sunday quickly became a game-changer in the world of pregame shows. The show brought a perfect mix of football knowledge, humor, and straight-up fun. It’s no surprise it has become such a staple of Sunday football.

And the accolades? Oh yeah, they’ve got plenty. The pregame show has snagged four Sports Emmy Awards for Outstanding Studio Show, plus countless other wins. With Bradshaw’s energy, Howie’s sharp takes, and Johnson’s experience from his Hall of Fame career, the show has earned its place as one of the best in the biz.

As Jimmy and the crew celebrate 31 seasons of awesomeness, it’s clear they’re leaving a legacy that fans will keep enjoying for years. While they are leaving a legacy, fans are urging them to leave the program. Yeah, fans are really saying that.

Health hurdles for Terry Bradshaw and Jimmy Johnson

Terry Bradshaw and Jimmy Johnson are absolute legends in the NFL and on FOX NFL Sunday. They had their fair share of health struggles. Bradshaw’s gone through some serious stuff with bladder cancer in 2021 and Merkel cell carcinoma in 2022. But he came out victorious and cancer-free. Still, fans are noticing a few slip-ups with his on-air vibes, sparking chatter about what’s next for him.

For instance, in November 2024, when the first half of Buccaneers versus 49ers was done, Bradshaw had to commentate over the recaps from the Week 10 early slate of games. And that’s when fans noticed him slipping up once again. While talking about the Falcons-Saints game, the 76-year-old momentarily forgot which city the former team was located in.

He was heard saying, “Derek Carr deep downfield, he finds Marquez Valdes-Scantling on a 40-yard touchdown. 17-7 now. New Orleans on top of Arizona – Atlanta, I’m sorry.”

That was just one of the many mistakes he has made in recent times. This left his fans quite worried about his health. Meanwhile, Johnson has dealt with heart disease and stayed real about his health journey. He still preaches the importance of check-ups and staying healthy, but occasional memory and speech issues have some fans wondering if he will be sticking around much longer.

In October 2024, when fans noticed he was absent from FOX NFL Sunday in Week 8, they started fearing the worst. Both men have shown some serious grit, pushing through tough health battles to stay on the show. But as they start showing signs of strain, fans are starting to wonder if it might be time to pass the torch. What do you think?
