Both current and retired footballers have joined in on the spooky spirit and stepped out in their special Halloween garbs, leaving the audience in both awe and splits.

Retire NFl Rob ‘Gronk’ Gronkowski who has now turned into a FOX Sports star recently made an appearance on Sundsy’s FOX NFL Kickoff show Alongside Charissa Thompson sporting an amusing costume. He added a dash of his impressive impression skills to have the crew floored.

Gronk debuts as Rob Burgandy 

Suited and looking sharp in burgundy the former NFL legend introduces himself as none other than the title character from the  2004 American satirical comedy film directed by Adam McKay, Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy. Host Charissa Thompson introduced Gronk’s Halloween outfit before cheekily admitting, “It is always a holiday when you are here.”

This prompted Gronkowski to switch into character, “Julian Edelman is a squirrel looking for nuts!” he impersonates actor Will Ferrell who plays Rob Burgandy in the movie. But this was not the only surprise in store for the FOX viewers. Rob Gronkowski was joined by his New England Patriots teammate from 2010-2018, Julian Edelman made a surprise appearance on the FOX NFL Kickoff show on Sunday, catching TV viewers off guard. The duo went on to win three Super Bowls together and now are star sports analysts on the FOX network. As the show progressed, the crew indulged in an interesting conversation that covered the infamous moment when Edelman and Gronkowski dented the Lombardi Trophy following New England’s 2018-19 Super Bowl victory.

Edelman and Gronkowski dent the Lombardi Trophy

Gronk is well established for his humorous antics, and when he decided to take a swing with the Lombardi Trophy in the studio to hit a ball swung towards him by fellow Partriot’s teammate Edelman, NFL fans could not help but join in on the playful jest. Both yelled in excitement as Gronkowski launched the baseball into the air. “Grand salami, baby!” exclaimed Gronk while breaking into his famous NFL touchdown dance.

Edelman made his FOX Sports debut on Sunday as the 2023 NFL season began alongside Gronkowski and former Patriots teammate Tom Brady, who signed with the network earlier this year. The retired quarterback has penned a $375 million contract with the broadcasting network for assuming the role of FOX Sports’ lead NFL analyst from the 2024 season onwards.
