Rashard Mendenhall, the former running back for the Pittsburgh Steelers, proposes a racial bowl game after getting agitated in his recent tweet. The 36-year-old hasn’t had the longest career and announced his retirement after just six seasons in the NFL. But while he wasn’t receiving a lot of attention earlier, he is currently under fire for his most controversial tweet.

Tom Brady has been a hot topic in the world of the NFL these days. Undoubtedly, he’s the best football player America has seen, but lately, he’s been criticizing the state of today’s NFL a lot, and the fans haven’t been too happy about it. Recently, the former QB for the Buccaneers said that there’s a “lot of mediocrity in today’s NFL” and that he doesn’t see the same excellence he used to see earlier. And it looks like these comments have managed to tick Mendenhall off, and he chimed in with his own opinions that are far more controversial than Brady’s.

On December 18, Mendenhall took to X, the platform formerly known as Twitter, to voice out his frustrations over white people critiquing the sport of football. While he never actually mentions Brady, it doesn’t take a detective to figure out that the tweet was a subtle dig at the seven-time Super Bowl winner.

He went on a fiery rant and said, “I’m sick of average white guys commenting on football. Y’all not even good at football. Can we please replace the Pro Bowl with an All-Black vs. All-White bowl so these cats can stop trying to teach me who’s good at football.” Moreover, he writes in the end that he’s “better than your goat,” which is all the more reason to believe that he’s trying to be vindictive towards Brady. But as no names have been mentioned in the tweet, it is impossible to confirm who he was talking about. Mendenhall is facing a lot of fire from Twitter users, but this is definitely not the first time he’s been in the face of controversy.

Mendenhall has received a lot of backlash over his recent comments about racial division

In his recent tweet, he also proposed a bowl game in which white players would compete against black players, which comes off as nothing but a slap in the face of diversity. Fans stormed to comment under his post and called him out for these statements.

While he is being trolled severely at the moment, this hasn’t been the worst thing that Wedenhall has said on Twitter. In 2011, Mendenhall criticized people on Twitter for celebrating the death of terrorist leader Osama bin Laden. Thus, Wedenhall is similar to Antonio Brown; both players couldn’t make it big in the NFL because of their vain and arrogant behavior.
