According to Skip Bayless, Tom Brady had a direct impact on Mark Davis, the owner of the Raiders. The analyst mentioned that Davis possibly wanted to get Tom Brady’s input on how the team has been doing in the last two seasons. “Do you think Tom Brady had some input into this decision? I’m going to guess some input,” stated Bayless.

“I don’t think Mark Davis would do this going completely solo on it. I think he would bounce it off Tom just to get Tom’s [opinion].” The Raiders had put a lot of expectations on the McDaniels, Ziegler, and Lombardi for the team to perform well, but those standards were not met.

Bayless had stated that Brady’s ownership could give a lot of headaches to Josh McDaniels. He also suggested that Brady would sack the HC entirely if he did not present an outstanding season.

“Is Brady’s ownership stake a good thing for Josh because obviously he had a lot of success with Josh. I’m sure he loves him. But if I know [No. 12] the way I think I do, it if it’s not working on the field, the [minority] owner will say ‘next,” Bayless stated.
