Isabella Strahan still remembers the day her life changed. It was a beautiful fall day in October 2023, and the 19-year-old was on a hiking trip with friends when she discovered she couldn’t walk a straight line. Doctors deemed it an ear infection. However, her headaches continued. Soon, the young girl made a spine-chilling discovery.

Blood all over her wash basin after she threw up. Immediately, Isabella’s heart sank. She knew something had gone horribly wrong. “Alarm bells rang, and I knew at that point that she needed an MRI, urgently,” her doctor said. The test results showed a kiwi-sized mass in her cerebellum, indicating a malignant brain tumor that could even result in a stroke, a seizure, or the girl “potentially dying”. Subsequently, Isabella had to pull out of a dream she had long harbored…

Within just 50 days of starting a new life, Michael Strahan’s daughter was instead left with regular hospital trips, three surgeries, six weeks of radiation, four rounds of chemotherapy, and a journey Isabella will never forget. Though she was declared cancer-free in July next year—which she celebrated with an ambitious “F–k cancer!” message on social media—the experience has left seeing the world in a new light. Isabella is now a changed person. One who makes sure to enjoy life more every day. And now, a year after her brave battle, she’s totally rocking her comeback.

On March 13, the now 21-year-old shared a string of photos on her Instagram Story that showed her enjoying spring break. In the first image, Isabella was seen posing for a picture with her twin sister, Sophia, and another friend. Sporting a light green satin dress with baby pink lace details, in the next picture she was seen raising one hand triumphantly—as if to reiterate her win over life’s curveballs. Talk about a glow-up! The third picture showed the former NY Giants legend’s daughter wearing a bathing suit and laughing while coming out the ocean. But that’s not all. She also made a confident proclamation in the very next update.

In a photo similar to her first one with Sophia (except this time it was another friend who posed between the sisters), Isabella Strahan wrote, “Starting spring break off right”. But let’s be real: This isn’t her first beach rodeo—she was all about that summer life last year, too!

In December 2024, she shared a series of bikini photos from her beach day in the Bahamas. This post was a throwback to last December when the family celebrated the holidays in the same spot, and Isabella was rocking a shaved head at the time. “And we’re back…” Isabella captioned her post, which also featured fun moments with her sister at The Albany resort. Many of the shots show Isabella looking stunning in a black floral bikini and hoop earrings, striking poses on the sandy beach.

From pause to play: Isabella Strahan’s active comeback to USC

In 2023, NFL star Michael Strahan’s daughter, Isabella, started her freshman year at the University of Southern California. However, a merciless detour later, on August 20 last year, she finally posted a selfie with her mom, Jean Muggli, captioned “Back at USC.” A video showed her dancing in her new apartment, celebrating her fresh start. “I get to start my freshman year again, and I hope I’m there for longer than 50 days this time,” she said.

Isabella’s latest social media update reveals an exciting new chapter in her college journey. She has joined the Delta Gamma sorority at USC while focusing on journalism and communications. On January 15, she shared photos on her Instagram Stories, giving followers a glimpse of a fun surprise. The pictures were from Disco PC 25, an event held by the historic sorority. In one shot, she held a cardboard cutout shaped like an anchor with “DEEG Isabella” written on it, showing just how much she’s loving her college experience.

Isabella, meanwhile, has always maintained a positive outlook throughout her journey. In a March 2025 interview with Hello Magazine, she said, “Now I don’t say no to anything. I don’t think, ‘I’ll do it next week.’ You never know what next week will bring.” Now, she’s embracing a new chapter in her life, back at the University of Southern California.

Even while undergoing treatment, she dedicated herself to raising awareness about cancer recovery, inspiring others going through similar struggles. And that’s exactly why she’s such a shining light!
