Nightcap’s recent live episode saw Shannon Sharpe and Chad Johnson coming together once again. It was a bit emotional for Sharpe, the NFL’s HOF personally after he lost someone quite close. He was overcome with emotions as the former TE narrated a tear-jerking narrative. Chad who recently scolded his friend for spending a fortune on a dog, also got emotional.

The duo then bonded over how losing a pet, especially a dog, hits hard. Sharpe narrated several instances of how dogs shower their love onto their owners. It was remarkable to see the otherwise two strong characters get vulnerable and share some emotional moments.

The NFL’s most decorated tight-end shared a vulnerable story on the recent Nightcap episode. The recent Nightcap video was a live one and featured some gut-wrenching stories surrounding the pets. Shannon started by saying how once his dog developed some brain clots and then died like“he was gone”. Sharpe further highlighted how he’d take his dog out around the block as his pet like the surroundings.

As the 3X SB champion went on about his pets’ stories and the loss, Chad Johnson got overwhelmed and started getting teary-eyed. He even proceeded to wipe his tears off his sweatshirt as he opened up about his experience. He disclosed how he had a pet way back in school and the memories hit him all of a sudden! Shannon ended the discussion by saying that when one returns home, the dogs are always there to welcome him. They either want to go out to the backyard to play or wait for them to be fed. This came in a few days after Johnson scolded Sharpe for spending a dime on a dog.

The former WR was aghast as Sharpe told the amount and asked why’d he do so. The 8X Pro-Bowler then went on to mention that he wanted a dog similar to his pup Teddy. For a long time, Sharpe was looking for a dog that resembled his puppy and proceeded to purchase it from overseas.

The ex-tight end’s Pomerian was worth a fortune as Shannon shelled out $10K for the dog. The amount left Johnson dumbfounded. He proceeded on to say that he could’ve got his friend a Pomeranian for $300, that too from around the city! Shannon then described the entire process of getting the dog from overseas. He told how he hired a dog handler to bring the dog from its native country, and then someone to pick her up from Los Angeles to his place.
