Deion Sanders commands Travis Hunter to relax and get healthy

Bleacher Report uploaded a YouTube video of Deion Sanders as he breaks down the text conversation he had with his injured cornerback. He began by reading out a text message from Travis Hunter. “I need to play this week. We need to get everything we can so I can get back on the field. I’m not taking no for an answer,” Hunter wrote.

Coach Prime is a highly capable and influential head coach, and his impact can be seen through his players. Travis Hunter is one talented and dedicated player who is ready to run through a brick wall for Deion Sanders. The cornerback got injured in a game against the Colorado State Rams and suffered a lacerated liver when he got hit by Rams’ Henry Blackburn Jr.

After falling into a 42-6 defeat from the Oregon Ducks, Travis Hunter could no longer sit still. His presence on the field led the team to three victories before this loss. However, Deion Sanders shows he cares for his players more than he cares for the game. He flatly told the SWAC Freshman of the Year that he wasn’t ready and that he needed to get healthy first.

Coach Prime reads out his reply to Travis Hunter aloud, saying, “You gonna change the game of football one day when you’re healthy and ready. Your future’s brighter than mine ever would and ever was. Relax and get healthy. I love you, son.” The undisputed college football head coach is all about being true to yourself. He added, “I want you to learn throughout this game and through trials and tribulations who you are.

Hunter expected to resume playing during Colorado’s bye week

A top overall prospect, Travis Hunter thrived under the coaching of Deion Sanders from his time at Jackson State to Colorado. His season record for the three games he played as cornerback and wide receiver is nine total tackles, two pass breakups, one interception, and 16 catches for 213 yards.

Coach Prime revealed that Travis Hunter is “doing well,” and he’s joining the team during practice and “coaching his butt off.” According to Deion Sanders, Hunter will hopefully get back on the field during Colorado’s bye week on October 12. This means that Hunter could be ready in time to face the UCLA Bruins on October 28.

Without Travis Hunter on the team, the Buffaloes have faced one more defeat after Oregon. They also lost to the USC Trojans 41-48. Hopefully, Hunter’s return will help the Deion Sanders Buffaloes pick up pace from where they left off.
