The Steelers need to fix something after that 35-25 loss to the Packers. The biggest concern? Tightening up defense, cutting down on costly mistakes, and finding some rhythm in the offense. It’s clear the team has talent, but without more discipline and consistency, it’s going to be tough to stay at the top spot in the AFC North race. Former Steelers linebacker James Harrison has also voiced his opinions and pointed out several problem areas that need much attention.

“Things have to change. People got to go. Being one of the highest-paid teams and ranking 30th just doesn’t add up. I’m not sure what exactly needs to happen, but it’s time to shake things up and get something new going. Offensively, we also need another reliable option besides DK — a true number two to balance things out,” he said on the Deebo and Joe podcast.

It was frustrating for every Steelers fan to watch. For a defense that’s one of the most expensive in the league, giving up 454 yards and forcing a single turnover for the third straight week is unacceptable. The unit completely fell apart in the second half against Jordon Love, who was carving lanes for his offense. Tight end Tucker Kraft looked like a superstar out there, finding holes in coverage all game long and finishing with 143 and two touchdowns.

It felt like every time the Packers needed a big play, the defense had no answer. But what made it worse was the timing. Even Mike Tomlin had some strong words for his secondary after the game.“We just got to be better in all areas, and it starts first with the positions that we put players in,” Tomlin told reporters. “So it’s coaches. It’s players. It’s all of us. We own it. We’ll be better. We have to be. I’m open to doing whatever it is that we need to do schematically or from a personnel standpoint to improve this.”

Pittsburgh couldn’t get a single key stop when it mattered. The Packers scored on five different drives, while our offense, which started strong with Aaron Rodgers at the helm, just couldn’t keep the momentum going in the latter half of the game.

After sitting on a 16-7 lead at halftime, the second half fell apart for Mike Tomlin’s Steelers

The second half was brutal for the Steelers….the drives kept stalling and all they could lean on was Chris Boswell, who nailed four field goals. The run game? Didn’t help either. Jaylen Warren gave some decent effort, but the ground attack never really clicked when it counted. Every time it looked as if Warren might break one, the Packers’ defense shut it down. And then came the officiating.

Some calls upset the Steelers fans. It’s no wonder the fans are furious. A missed defensive offside that should have gone against the Packers and a messy fumble review on Warren that got overturned completely killed the rhythm.

To make things worse, DK Metcalf’s 15-yard penalty completely wiped out Pittsburgh’s momentum on a critical drive. The special team’s brief struggles were somehow only the Steelers got flagged? That was the icing on the cake. Between the penalties, missed calls, and lack of composure, it’s clear that something’s got to change if this team wants to stay relevant.
